All 14 rooms feature a semi-open-air Onsen bath. A Japanese auberge designed to offer each guest a blissful moment.
~Izumo, Encounters, Kararako~ Izumo is known for Kamiarizuki, the month when deities from The whole country gather. With the wish to welcome our guests as warmly as those deities who travel from afar to Izumo, we named this Hotel “Kararako” (Shintoraku). Our restaurant’s head chef is a devoted protégé who trained for many years at the Kyoto kappo restaurant “Higashiyama Yoshihisa,” which earned one Michelin star for two consecutive years from 2019 and again in 2023. Enjoy one-of-a-kind flavors tailored to each guest’s preferences and condition. We honor Japan’s traditional culture and seasonal ingredients of Izumo, serving each dish on carefully selected tableware that expresses an innocent sense of playfulness. All 14 Rooms feature a semi-open-air bath for relaxed comfort. The Hotel also offers an exclusive restaurant for staying guests, a tea lounge, and lounge spaces, as well as a bar open to non-staying visitors. We look forward to welcoming you in Izumo—sharing your joy and celebrating the connections made here.
The staff were exceptionally courteous, and the hospitality was outstanding. Their replies were beautifully written, and their thoughtful attention to detail made our stay truly comfortable. The meals were especially impressive—both dinner and breakfast, generously prepared with local ingredients, were absolutely delicious. Not only the food but also the carefully chosen tableware enhanced each dish and made the experience even more enjoyable.Another major highlight is the excellent location, just a short distance from Izumo Taisha Shrine. This is a wonderful Accommodation that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Izumo. I would love to stay again.
YesNogood 7/23/2026The guest room was very clean, and we were able to relax and fully enjoy the semi-open-air bath. We also made a Reservation for the sake pairing Plan, and they suggested many types of sake that matched our preferences, which made it a wonderful experience. The food was delicious as well—this is an Accommodation we would love to visit again! All of the staff were kind, making this trip truly unforgettable. Thank you very much.

Introduction of the Accommodation

Welcome along the approach to Izumo Taisha Shrine.
In the tenth month of the lunar calendar, for an annual sacred rite, the eight million deities from The whole country gather in Izumo. With the wish to welcome our guests who visit this land as warmly as we would host the gods who travel great distances to Izumo, we named this Hotel “Kararako” (Kamitoraku). Spaces and guest rooms that make the most of natural materials, and artworks that express pure, playful creativity. And cuisine that lets you savor the unique climate and culture of San’in and Izumo—found only here. At Kararako (Kamitoraku), located along the approach to Izumo Taisha Shrine, we look forward to welcoming you.

Start your day with a comforting breakfast.

With deep respect for Izumo’s traditional culture and seasonal ingredients, we offer guests truly blissful cuisine.
