Shio no Yu Onsen Renge (Kyoritsu Resort)
Tochigi Prefecture/Shiobara OnsenA historic Onsen known as the "Beauty Skin Bath" and local cuisine served in a Kaiseki style, enjoyed at an accommodation overlooking a beautiful valley.
A property in the Shiobara Onsen Village, boasting over 1200 years of history, built utilizing the rich natural topography of the Shiobara Gorge. To reach the property, guests ride a dedicated slope car with a drop of approximately 30 meters. The Shionoyu Onsen, one of the 11 onsen in the Shiobara Onsen Village, is renowned for its high salt content and mineral-rich waters. Meals are prepared using local ingredients, offering seasonal kaiseki cuisine. Enjoy the historic Shiobara Onsen waters and local seasonal flavors along with the breathtaking scenery.
At the start of summer vacation, we rented a car and stayed here with three generations of our family—seven in total (we welcomed one more member this January). When we previously visited as a couple, we loved the well-appointed Onsen, the varied meals, and the comfort of the barrier-free tatami flooring throughout the building. This time we wanted to bring our grandchildren too, and it was even better than expected. There were plenty of young staff members, and their service was truly pleasant. Our grandchild was curious about what the approach to the entrance was—and ended up absolutely delighted. At the dining venue, there were many families with small children as well, so everyone could relax without feeling overly self-conscious. We’re grateful for such thoughtful consideration by this Accommodation.Sharing our first “men’s morning bath” with our grandchildren in the private family bath became an unforgettable memory. The entire property was spotless and uncluttered, making it extremely comfortable.Thank you very much.
そうちゃんのじいじ 7/21/2026I hardly know where to start—this was simply a wonderful stay. From the front desk to the Room, everything was spotless and fully barrier-free. The hallways and the Room floors are completely level, which felt a little unusual at first, but even the corridors and stairs are covered with tatami mats, so there’s no worry about tripping. The open-air bath in the Room is not free-flowing, so you fill it yourself; topping it up as it cools actually made it easy to adjust the temperature. The after-bath ice cream service was also appreciated—you can choose from options like candy-style bars or monaka. There was plenty of delicious food, and in particular the bamboo-wrapped steamed Yashio trout and the chicken meatballs in the dobin-mushi were outstanding. When I went into the open-air bath around midnight, I saw a single firefly! As someone raised in a city, I was thrilled—and it stayed on the terrace until morning. The large public bath area had everything: regular Onsen baths, a medicinal bath, an outdoor rock bath, plus hot-stone spa and a sauna—truly well equipped.Of course, every staff member greeted us with smiles and thoughtful attention throughout our stay.On our drive home, my husband and I were already talking about planning our next visit! Thank you for helping make this such a great trip.
