Approximately a 3-minute walk from Higobashi Station. A Hotel featuring uniquely designed rooms with an emphasis on environmental sustainability.

The name "voco" originates from Latin, meaning "to invite" or "to call together." Positioned as a brand experience, we offer "Come on in" for a welcoming feeling, "Me time" for moments to be yourself, and "voco life" for dishes that suit the occasion, providing an "unexpected special" experience within a comfortable stay that feels like a familiar place. Starting with a welcome treat inspired by the location and character of the Hotel, we deliver a premium Hotel experience that includes a relaxing Room experience away from the daily hustle, and moments of gathering at restaurants, cafes, and bars where you can savor carefully crafted cuisine and enriching times. voco Osaka Central connects guests with the local community, where the vibrant energy and colors of the Hotel draw people in. The warm design, featuring art that bridges the past and present of Kyomachibori, interiors utilizing reclaimed wood from actual houses, and a spiral staircase, welcomes guests along with the smiles of the Hotel staff.

  • This was my first time making a Reservation and staying at voco Osaka, and overall it was very good. Most of the service staff were foreigners, but they seemed to be well trained.

  • This is a personal memo. I’d always thought I’d like to stay here someday, and with a coupon I was able to book at the lowest price.Overall, the decor was cute. In Marriott terms, it felt like something halfway between Aloft and Moxy. The hair dryer was a high-airflow Panasonic. Breakfast was so good I ended up eating too much. The variety of Nespresso capsules in the Room was great. The view was also nice.If I had to mention one drawback, it would be the location—though this time Utsubo Park was actually my main destination, so it was so close you could almost call it an “Utsubo Park Hotel.” It felt even closer than it looks on the map, which was a pleasant surprise. It also felt very close even walking from Dojima. Also, the bed: for a queen size it felt just right; unlike many foreign hotels where you have to climb up onto a high bed, this one felt low—almost like a low bed. The duvet seemed like synthetic fill and oddly reminded me of sleeping under a Japanese futon, which was interesting. The staff didn’t really make much eye contact. After check-in, an American/European couple who happened to be there kindly told me that the floor indicator lights up when you tap your key card—an automatic system—which helped a lot.

A retro and artistic lobby area featuring a unique design using repurposed old wood.

Voco Osaka Central is located in Kyomachibori, Osaka, a district that once flourished as people migrated from Kyoto's Fushimi area. Known as the "Kitchen of the Nation," this historic area was a hub where people and goods from all over Japan gathered, and it is said that warehouses built by samurai and merchants once lined the streets. Stepping into this seemingly understated modern Hotel, you are transported to a unique space that feels like a time slip to the past. The atrium space, which includes the lobby, restaurant, and bar, features a majestic wooden structure crafted from reclaimed materials salvaged from actual houses. This dynamic yet subtly warm design creates a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.

A delicate balance between retro motifs reminiscent of the Taisho era and contemporary art.

Since its completion in 1926 (Taisho 15), voco Osaka Central has been reborn on the site of the former Kyomachibori Building, a historic structure cherished as a symbol of Kyomachibori. To pass on the heritage of nearly 100 years of stories and history to the next generation, this new icon of the city has been created. Inside the Hotel, original art pieces themed around the city's history are displayed. Additionally, artworks and objects repurposing items that were actually used in the past are scattered throughout.
