Exclusive to one group per day, enjoy the historic charm of traditional Japanese architecture and a meticulously crafted Aizu Samurai Kaiseki meal.

The main residence of the renowned Onsen of Aizu, "Higashiyama Onsen." A Property offering exclusive hospitality to only one group per day. Spend precious time with your loved ones in a relaxed atmosphere at our Property. This is the shared sentiment of all our staff, and we spare no effort to provide heartfelt service. Hearing the words "Thank you" and welcoming you back to Aizu someday—this is our greatest joy. Our head chef, who knows the charm of Aizu's ingredients inside and out, selects only the finest materials. The majestic traditional Japanese architecture, rich in history, is one of the highlights. It is one of the three great wooden mansions of Aizu from the Showa era. Standing proudly at the gateway to Aizu Higashiyama Onsen, in front of the Aizu Samurai Residence, this impressive wooden structure showcases the craftsmanship of master carpenters. The main building, tea rooms steeped in history, and the garden all exude a sense of tradition. Here at "Tsuruga Aizu Higashiyama Main Sanctuary," you can savor a variety of traditional Aizu samurai cuisine, as well as the exquisite "Aizu Brand Horse Meat" with its refined red meat, paired with Aizu's renowned sake.

  • I chose this Accommodation for my boyfriend’s birthday trip. It was my first stay here, and it far exceeded my expectations. Above all, the staff’s service was truly outstanding, and I was moved by every thoughtful gesture. The property has the charming presence of a grand traditional Japanese house, and the garden is beautifully maintained. We enjoyed a luxurious time dining at a relaxed pace while looking out over the garden. The basashi (horse sashimi) in particular was the best I’ve ever had—absolutely unforgettable. The Room was spacious and spotless, very comfortable, and the view from the window was wonderful. The building also has delightful surprises and playful touches that even first-time guests can enjoy, which kept me excited throughout our stay. They also offer an excellent selection of sake, so I especially recommend this Accommodation to sake lovers. It was one of the most memorable places I’ve ever stayed—completely satisfying in every way. I will definitely return.

  • [Overall]This Accommodation is a truly special place—one where the stay itself becomes the purpose of the trip. It goes far beyond what the phrase “luxury Ryokan” can capture, bringing together history, atmosphere, cuisine, Onsen, and heartfelt hospitality as one. With only one party per day, we enjoyed rare tranquility and the indulgent feeling that time was flowing just for us.[Facilities & Guest Room]The stately traditional Japanese architecture feels steeped in history, and from the moment you pass through the gate you step into an extraordinary world. The guest room, meanwhile, is a refined Japanese-modern space that preserves traditional beauty while offering contemporary comfort. It is exceptionally spacious, with a living area, dining area, bedroom, and terrace—each inviting a different way to relax. The building’s heritage and furnishings are elegant yet never intimidating. Everything was impeccably clean down to the smallest details, and there were no compromises in facilities or amenities. Rather than “an old place preserved as-is,” it felt like an Accommodation that has evolved beautifully while honoring its history.[Onsen & Sauna]Because you can enjoy Higashiyama Onsen in your room at your own pace, there’s no need to worry about time or other guests. Opening the glass door creates an open-air feel; soaking while breathing fresh air and listening to the river was exceptional. There is also a private sauna, and being able to enjoy both Onsen and sauna anytime—and as many times as you like—is a privilege unique to an Accommodation limited to one party per day. We came intending to sightsee but ended up wanting to stay in all day—it was that comfortable.[Dining]The meals are not simply lavish; they let you experience Aizu’s history and food culture itself. From their signature basashi (horse sashimi) to local specialties made with regional ingredients, each dish was beautifully presented and brought new surprises.Rather than serving traditional cuisine unchanged, it is refined with modern sensibility into an Aizu samurai-style kaiseki experience. The food paired with the tableware, local sake selections—even the dining setting—felt like a complete work of art.[Service]Most memorable of all was the hospitality from the staff. With dedicated support throughout our stay we felt completely at ease—yet they never overstepped their presence always respecting just the right distance for us to relax. It wasn’t merely formal politeness; every conversation and guidance conveyed a genuine desire to make our stay exceptional. They avoided any of that tension sometimes found at high-end properties—letting us be ourselves—which I believe is what true service really means.
