Atagawa Ocean Resort is located along the coast in atmospheric Higashiizu Town, Shizuoka. On clear days, you can enjoy views of the Izu Seven Islands, including Izu Oshima, Niijima, and Miyakejima. Our ocean-view restaurant features a wide selection of dishes made with abundant seafood from Higashiizu, served as a buffet or course meals. Nearby attractions include Atagawa YOU-Yu Beach (“Atagawa YOU湯 Beach”), just a 5-minute walk away. There are also many fun spots such as Izu Animal Kingdom and Atagawa Tropical & Alligator Garden.     We were very satisfied with the meals, service, Hotel atmosphere, and the easy walk to the beach!I think it may be the best Hotel in Atagawa!We couldn’t make it this time, but we’d love to come back and use the pool as well!

  • Atagawa is wonderful, as always.

    Atagawa Ocean Resort is a place you can’t go wrong with, no matter how many times you stay. The Room is clean, and the dining area is also spotless. Most notably, the staff’s smiles are wonderful. The food is delicious as well, whether it’s the buffet or the set-course meals. It’s an Accommodation I’d love to stay at again. The beds are made by Simmons and are extremely comfortable.

There are attractions to enjoy year-round nearby; in spring, the Kawazu Cherry Blossoms—famous for their early bloom—are highly recommended. The cherry trees in full bloom along the river are a must-see. In summer, you can enjoy sea fishing and marine sports, and the area becomes lively with beachgoers.

Atagawa Onsen is said to have been discovered when Ota Dokan—renowned for building Edo Castle—spotted a monkey healing its wounds in a river. Our Hotel draws natural Onsen water from Izu-Atagawa, and you can enjoy our open-air bath and large public bath with free-flowing hot spring water direct from the source. (Please note: a small amount of water is added to adjust the temperature.) With a source temperature of 100°C, Atagawa Onsen is known for its heat, and our Onsen can be enjoyed at a hot 42°C. Relax at your leisure while taking in the Pacific Ocean stretching out before you.
