[Updated August 14] Operational Status and Transportation Access Information for Our Property Following the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake
We extend our heartfelt sympathies to everyone affected by the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake. We sincerely pray for a swift recovery and reconstruction.
[Operating Status]
At THE ACONCAGUA RESORTS, we inspected the building, equipment, and utilities after the earthquake. At this time, no damage has been found that would significantly affect stays or on-site services. We are operating as usual.
[For Guests Arriving by Car]
From Fukuoka / Saga:
Exit the Kyushu Expressway at Kumamoto IC, then proceed toward Minami-Aso via National Route 57, Shin-Aso Bridge, and National Route 325.
From Kumamoto City:
From Kumamoto IC, proceed toward Minami-Aso via National Route 57, Shin-Aso Bridge, and National Route 325.
From Aso Kumamoto Airport:
Proceed toward Minami-Aso via Prefectural Route 28 and Tawarayama Tunnel. Approx. 40 minutes from the airport.
Our staff have driven and checked the main routes above on site, and no road closures or traffic restrictions have been confirmed.
The closure between Matsubase IC and Ebino IC on the Kyushu Expressway was lifted at 6:00 on August 14, and all sections are now passable. However, two-way traffic control remains in effect between Miyahara SA and Yatsushiro IC.
The Minamikyushu Expressway remains closed between Yatsushiro JCT and Tanoura IC; however, the usual route from Kumamoto IC to our Accommodation does not pass through this section.
[Public Transportation]
JR Tateno Station, JR Akamizu Station, and Minami Aso Railway Choyo Station are confirmed to be operating normally. Please use a taxi from each station. We do not offer Shuttle Service.
Road and traffic conditions may change due to aftershocks, restoration work, weather conditions, etc. Please check the latest information from each transportation provider before departure.
