Set in Naramachi, a popular district in Nara’s old town where traditional streetscapes remain, “Kaze no Naramachi” is a small Hotel with only eight rooms, blending modern comfort while preserving the beauty and design of classic Japanese architecture such as storehouses and tea rooms. As befits the birthplace of sake, our concept is a “SAKE HOTEL,” where you can enjoy pairings of Toyosawa Brewery’s sake with fusion cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients. Rare sakes may also be available depending on the season. To help make your trip even more fulfilling, we also provide guidance on nearby sightseeing spots. Enjoy atmospheric strolls through town and visits to Kofuku-ji Temple, Todai-ji Temple, and Nara Park—an enriching stay where you can experience culture and history and discover Nara’s hidden charms.

    It was my first time visiting Nara.I was very satisfied with my first stay at Kaze no Naramachi. The hospitality was wonderful in every aspect—from the service and the Room to the meals and thoughtful care. The weather was bad, so sightseeing did not go as planned, but I would like to stay again and fully enjoy what Nara has to offer.Thank you as well for the delicious sake.

  • Sake Pairing

    We enjoyed an excellent pairing of French cuisine and sake. Starting with a sparkling sake, then moving on to Junmai Ginjo and Junmai Daiginjo, the aromas and fruitiness became more pronounced, creating a wonderful match with each dish. We visited for our wedding anniversary; since it wasn’t a milestone year, we didn’t request flowers, but at the end they served a chocolate message plate, which made for some great photos.The historic building was very soothing and relaxing.Thank you very much.

We restored the earthen-floored space of a building that was originally a residence and added a counter-style restaurant. Enjoy dishes that highlight the rich flavors of Nara’s local ingredients, perfectly paired with a carefully selected range of sake from Toyosawa Brewery. We also offer freshly pressed sake delivered directly from the brewery, as well as exclusive bottles available only at our Hotel. Savor sake to your heart’s content at the restaurant located right next to the guest rooms.
