The restaurant is also open for dinner to non-staying guests.
Recently, I had been staying mostly at foreign-owned Resort Hotels, but I was truly impressed by the outstanding balance and high standards in every aspect—service, cuisine, Room quality, and the Onsen. It reminded me of the exceptional level of Japanese hospitality.
Mashitaka 9/24/2026We arrived by car, and even in the heat we were greeted before we even reached the entrance. Sometimes you’re welcomed after arriving at the entrance, or staff are stationed at the entrance to greet you—but this time they were already waiting out front. Isn’t that almost too wonderful? The welcome drink was delicious as well.This time we chose a lower grade and stayed in the Residence building. Getting from the Main building to the Residence requires walking a short distance outside, so it might be a concern on rainy days. There are also a few stairs, but staff will carry your luggage, so it shouldn’t be an issue. There is a private Onsen along the way, so for those who plan to use it, staying in the Residence may actually be more convenient.The Room was spacious enough. Our pre-requested baby cot, diaper bin, baby bath, etc., were already set up in the Room, so families with babies can stay with peace of mind.The indoor bath is an Onsen with free-flowing natural spring water in the Room. The temperature was perfect—absolutely wonderful. The BVLGARI amenities were also great.Breakfast was delicious, and the portions were just right—more than enough. As for the cuisine overall, I think the chef’s skill is outstanding.At dinner service most guests dress neatly, so for men it’s better to wear something with a collar to match the atmosphere. On our first stay last time we didn’t know what to expect and dressed too casually—lesson learned. Shorts and a T-shirt would probably still be fine; this is simply about maintaining the overall ambiance.The outer-side seating likely has better views, but if you have children I recommend sitting on the lobby side—you don’t have to worry as much about others there, which really helps. If your baby starts crying hard nonstop (as babies do), you can simply step out.I’m very interested in dinner as well, but with a baby we couldn’t use it considering the atmosphere—hopefully someday.The evening ambiance is wonderful. Service is excellent as expected—from checkout through seeing us off was superb—and I honestly wonder if there is any Accommodation that surpasses this one.Given today’s times I imagine staff training must be challenging everywhere, but this Accommodation’s hospitality stands out as truly exceptional. Thank you to all staff members and chefs alike. Thank you again for another wonderful stay.

A small luxury Hotel nestled in Sengokuhara, Hakone. Each guestroom features a private, free-flowing Onsen bath fed directly from the source—available anytime. The main building has 11 guest rooms. Each room is filled with natural light from large windows, and the terrace offers sweeping views. All rooms feature a private Onsen bath with free-flowing hot spring water, with a distinctive layout that connects the bedroom straight through to the terrace. With a bathtub set directly in the bathroom, you can enjoy Shin-Ubako Onsen anytime, 24 hours a day; open the windows to take in views of Hakone’s mountains while soaking in an open-air style bath.
The residence has a total of 9 Rooms. Rooms range from 33 to 98 m², offering a variety of types—from compact Rooms ideal for solo travelers to suite Rooms suitable for families. Each Room features a different layout and view from the windows, so you can enjoy noticing the differences every time you stay. The building includes a spa (esthetic) Room, a training Room, and laundry facilities, and just across the way is a building with private open-air baths. On clear days, some Rooms offer views of the summit of Mt.
