  • Always relaxing.

    This was my third stay. It was my first time visiting in summer, and the lush greenery outside the window was very soothing. There are many international staff members, but everyone works hard and it never feels out of place. This time, I ordered cake and coffee to go from the café lounge, and I really appreciated how a Japanese staff member carefully packed the cup in the cake box so it wouldn’t tip over—such thoughtful attention to detail. I’ll be back again. Thank you very much.

  • I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay of 3 nights.

    I stayed here for the first time because I wanted to work in the forest.The Room is compact yet very comfortable, and above all, the atmosphere of the garden, terrace, and café was so relaxing that I ended up extending my stay by one night.I also enjoyed the fireplace experience and grinding coffee beans myself with a coffee mill. The instructions were easy to understand even for beginners, which I really appreciated.Thank you as well to the manager for all your thoughtful care. The grounds are vast, and even traveling around by buggy felt special—almost like being abroad. Renting a bicycle was also a refreshing and very fun experience.Dinner was delicious, too. I highly recommend this Accommodation for anyone who wants to unwind in nature or enjoy forest bathing.

    At Hakone Retreat, as part of our commitment to the natural environment and sustainability initiatives, we will introduce “Eco Cleaning” for guests staying a Multiple Night Stay starting on June 15, 2026.

    With Eco Cleaning, we will continue to provide daily in-room cleaning, trash collection, towel replacement, and amenity replenishment as usual; however, linen items such as bed sheets and in-house wear will be replaced every other day.

    Please note that this initiative applies to guests staying in the fore building. For guests staying in the villa building, we will continue with the standard cleaning service and daily linen replacement.
