Sanriku Coast Jodogahama Park Hotel
Iwate Prefecture/Sanriku Coast: Scenic Spot "Jodogahama"A Hotel perched on a hill overlooking Jodogahama, offering traditional Japanese scenery and the blessings of all four seasons.
A Hotel located on a hill overlooking Jodogahama, offering traditional Japanese scenery and the blessings of all four seasons.
We stayed here for our wedding anniversary trip—our first visit to Sanriku since the earthquake. We were excited, wondering what kind of Hotel it would be, and were surprised to learn that members of the Imperial Family have stayed here! There were rows of photos displayed in front of the elevators on the lobby floor. Wondering what our Room would be like, we entered the one assigned to us—and right in front of us was a panoramic view of Jodogahama! We couldn’t help saying to each other, “What a great Room!” After taking in the view, we headed straight to the large public bath. It also had an open-air bath, and we enjoyed a relaxing soak. Since we had time before dinner, we spent it singing karaoke—by then we were nicely hungry. Dinner was a luxurious buffet, featuring live kitchen stations for nigiri sushi and steak—our first time experiencing that. There were also many local dishes, and we ended up far beyond full. We had breakfast early at 6:30: a buffet seafood rice bowl where you can choose your favorite toppings. Although it was unfortunately raining outside, the sea view had an atmospheric beauty like an ink painting. It became a truly memorable anniversary trip. As we left the Hotel, we talked about wanting to come back again for another anniversary in a few years’ time. Finally, thank you so much to all the staff for your wonderful hospitality!
ゲスト 8/4/2026I didn’t have high expectations for the buffet at first, but I was amazed by the delicious nigiri sushi and sashimi made with exceptionally fresh, locally sourced seafood. There were also Tankaku beef stew and sea urchin rice, making for a truly luxurious meal. I was especially happy to find dairy products such as plain Iwaizumi Yogurt—praised by Shohei Ohtani as the best in the world—and Tanohata milk, popular for its rich sweetness that tastes like gently simmered milk. It was a very satisfying dining experience that let me fully enjoy the abundance of Iwate’s ingredients.

Introduction of the Accommodation

The hotel overlooks Miyako Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy a blissful moment while watching the breathtaking sunrise.
From the hotel located on the highlands of the national scenic spot "Jodogahama" in the easternmost city of Honshu, you can enjoy views extending to Miyako Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The scenery from the lobby and sea-facing rooms allows you to appreciate the natural beauty of the Sanriku Coast up close. In the early morning, you can also witness the sunrise. Guests staying at the property can enjoy drinks at the drink counter on the lobby floor.

Sanriku Reconstruction National Park and scenic spot "Jodogahama"
The scenic spot representing Sanriku Fukko National Park, the famous "Jodogahama." Over 300 years ago, a monk from Joganji Temple who visited "Jodogahama" was inspired and named it "like the Pure Land." The beauty of white rocks and pine trees, interwoven with the deep blue of the sea, adorning the easternmost point of Honshu, continues to captivate people's hearts, unchanged from the past to the present.

We offer various room types: Japanese-style rooms with views of Miyako Bay and the sunrise over Honshu's easternmost city, Japanese-style rooms overlooking the Southern Red Pine Forest, Royal Suite Rooms, as well as Japanese/Western-style twin bedrooms and business-oriented twin rooms.

Sanriku is one of the world's three major fishing grounds, where the Oyashio and Kuroshio currents meet. In spring, enjoy Sanriku Wakame with its vibrant sheen and elasticity. Summer offers sea urchins rich in umami, sweetness, and ocean aroma. Autumn's saury is served fresh as sashimi. Winter features abalone and cod, with cod sashimi boasting exceptional freshness. Relish the seasonal bounty of the sea.

Surrounded by a red pine forest, you can relax and feel the breath of nature while relieving travel fatigue. After bathing, unwind in the library lounge or relaxation area.

A library lounge is available on the 2nd floor for our property guests to relax and enjoy. We also provide books on Miyako's history and related works.
