Forget the hustle and bustle of daily life and relax with the slow passage of time at the foot of Mount Fuji.
Older Hotels often have the best locations, so we came looking forward to the stunning combination of Mt. Fuji and Lake Yamanaka—and it was exactly as expected. Because the Hotel is built on higher ground, there is nothing to block the view of Mt. Fuji, and the panorama is outstanding. And on top of that, even during the Obon holiday period, we were upgraded to a suite—thank you very much. When I woke up in the morning and opened the large terrace window, after the previous day’s cloudy weather, a magnificent view of Mt. Fuji suddenly appeared before us. It was a birthday trip with my 92-year-old mother, and she was absolutely delighted.In the evening we enjoyed a full-course French dinner. The staff were pleasant, and everything was delicious. We also visited the café—the dessert made with an entire peach cost just 1,000 yen including tax and service charge! It was incredibly tasty, great value, and we were very satisfied.The building is undeniably old, but our stay was very comfortable. Lake Yamanaka may be less well-known among the Fuji Five Lakes, but it’s quiet and we really loved it. We would like to visit again in autumn to enjoy the fall foliage.

Since we couldn’t stay long, we decided to treat ourselves and booked a Junior Suite for the first time—then received an unexpected upgrade.When I opened the door, I was speechless.It was simply incredible.Is there any other Hotel Room where Mount Fuji looks this huge and magnificent, besides the suites here?It was a bit of a trek to the Onsen, but Mount Fuji was so overwhelming—in the best way—that it didn’t matter. We felt healed and completely at ease; all our everyday stress disappeared. I honestly wished we could stay forever.The price is not easy for an ordinary stay, but while staying in standard twin Rooms and such, our whole family will keep working hard so that one day we can stay in this Room again (lol).Thank you for your unchanged kindness and consistently delicious meals. We’ll be back.
