A hidden retreat in Azumino blending European-style interiors with the charm of a traditional Japanese farmhouse.

Our Property is a hidden retreat located in the village of Azumino, Shinshu, surrounded by natural forests. The area is home to artistic buildings such as museums that harmonize with nature, creating a serene environment. While the exterior features a rustic design reminiscent of traditional Japanese houses, stepping inside reveals a fusion of Western-style interiors inspired by the Meiji era and traditional Japanese Room designs, including features like an irori hearth. In this simple yet nostalgic space filled with the warmth of wood, we believe you will fully experience a sense of comfort and relaxation.

  • Everything was excellent, except that check-in overlapped with other guests and we had to wait a little for the bath. The staff kept a comfortable distance, and we had a very pleasant stay. The food was carefully prepared and delicious—and having Kirin Lager made it even better! We’ll be back again.

Measures to Prevent the Spread of New Viruses
Our property operates with a maximum of five guest Rooms.
At check-in, we ask guests to sanitize their hands with alcohol and have their temperature taken.

For dining, we use three separate Rooms and ensure good ventilation by opening skylights to avoid enclosed spaces. We also stagger meal start times slightly to help avoid close contact.
All three baths are private-use baths, eliminating contact with other guests.
In guest Rooms and wash areas, we provide hand soap and alcohol sanitizer, and paper towels are available.
As meals are served in kaiseki style, our staff wear masks and serve food while keeping as much distance from guests as possible.
We frequently disinfect tables, doorknobs, and other high-touch surfaces throughout the property with alcohol sanitizer.
To minimize contact, the staff who interact with guests are kept as consistent and limited as possible.

About Hygiene Measures
Notice Regarding COVID-19 Prevention Measures Our property is operating with a limited capacity of five Rooms. To avoid the “Three Cs,” our dining area in the main traditional house offers three separate Rooms (Japanese-style Room, irori hearth Room, and table Room). We keep at least 2 meters between guests and ensure good ventilation by opening skylights and more. All three baths are private-use baths, so there is no contact with other guests. As we serve kaiseki cuisine, our staff wear masks while serving your meal. Hand soap and alcohol sanitizer are provided in guest Rooms and wash areas, and paper towels are available for use. We ask guests to wear a mask in shared spaces except when in their Room or during meals. Masks are also available for guests who do not have one. We sincerely hope you can relax and enjoy a peaceful stay in Azumino, away from the stresses of everyday life.
