    I caused you a great deal of trouble, but everyone spoke to me so kindly that it truly helped me. The price is almost too low! The in-room lotion was my favorite brand, there were two sinks, and both dinner and breakfast were outstanding. It was a shame there was no view from the open-air bath, but I found myself hoping—thinking from the owner’s perspective—that your service will continue just as it is so you won’t lose guests until the construction is finished. Even without a view from the window, this is a wonderful Ryokan. Thank you very much for everything.

  • It became a wonderful memory.

    We stayed here to celebrate a birthday.It was a hot and humid day, and we were exhausted after only a short walk, but the Room was wonderful, the meals were delicious, and everyone at the Accommodation was kind. We’re glad we chose to stay here.The next day, you also let us keep our car parked until the last possible moment, so we could enjoy sightseeing in Nara without worrying about parking. It became a fun and memorable birthday trip.Next time, we’d like to make a Reservation for a different Room.Thank you very much.

Notice from the Accommodation

IMPORTANT: Conservation and Restoration Work on the National Treasure, Kofuku-ji Five-Story Pagoda

Major conservation and restoration work—the first in 120 years since the Meiji era—is currently being carried out on the Kofuku-ji Five-Story Pagoda.
The plan includes re-roofing with new tiles, repairs to the eaves and wooden architectural elements, and re-plastering of the walls.

A temporary protective structure for construction (approx. 60 m high) will be built before full-scale work begins.
Once this structure is completed, the pagoda will not be visible for some time.

* The illumination ended on August 20.
* As of May 2024, scaffolding has reached approximately the same height as the top (4th) level.

Even in landlocked Nara, our head chef carefully selects ingredients to create exquisite monthly kaiseki cuisine. Savor premium dishes featuring Kuroge Wagyu beef and seasonal ingredients. Our kaiseki meals are served course by course, from appetizers to desserts, for your enjoyment. Additionally, as Nara is the birthplace of sake brewing, we offer a variety of chilled sake options to perfectly complement your meal.

    As a dining Ryokan offering kaiseki cuisine that highlights the blessings of each season, we strive every day to ensure that not only the food itself, but also the time you spend dining with us becomes a memorable experience.

    For this reason, for Plans that include dinner and breakfast, we accept only a limited number of Reservations due to limited seating in our dining area.

    Especially during peak periods such as long weekends and sightseeing seasons, Plans with meals may sell out first. If you wish to stay with both dinner and breakfast included, please make your Reservation as early as possible.

    Please note that available Plans and room types may vary depending on the date. If you have specific dates in mind, we would appreciate it if you could Check Reservation details for each Accommodation Plan before making your selection.

    Kofuku-ji Temple’s Five-Story Pagoda is undergoing its first major preservation and restoration project in 120 years, since the Meiji era.

    A temporary protective structure for the construction (approx. 60 m high) has now been erected, so the pagoda will not be visible for the time being.

    To ensure privacy from construction workers on site at Kofuku-ji Temple’s Five-Story Pagoda, a light screen has been installed around the open-air bath so it cannot be seen from outside.
