Inishie no Toki Onsen. With over 600 years of tradition, the renowned hot spring flowing from the mountains of Hanamaki, the legendary Shirozaru Onsen, a time of relaxation, exquisite cuisine, and the spirit of hospitality passed down since its opening, a new story begins.
Connected by a corridor to the neighboring Fujisan Onsen, we were able to enjoy many different hot springs. The Room was stylish, though it felt a bit less relaxing for those used to city life; however, the in-room bath was spacious and the amenities had a lovely fragrance. Above all, the staff’s service was courteous and excellent.
The clean, new guest Rooms were wonderful, and the in-Room Onsen—100% free-flowing from the source with no recirculation—was also excellent. The especially outstanding part was the deeply retro, Showa-era Onsen you enter after moving to the Ryokan section. Some baths have fairly steep stairs and a step down to the bottom of the tub, so guests with weaker legs or hips should take care.There is also women-only time slots, which my wife enjoyed.All staff members, including those from overseas, worked very hard and were kind and courteous.It was great to experience both a new, stylish modern Hotel and a Ryokan section full of Showa nostalgia in a single trip.

All rooms are spacious suites of over 60 square meters. Designed with a modern and stylish concept, including interiors and furniture. Each room has a unique layout and style. Beds are made by Sealy, promoting deep sleep. Sophisticated spaces with designer furniture. Facing the clear Toyosawa River, you can enjoy the sound of the stream, the view of the cliffs on the opposite bank, and the chirping of birds.

"Namari Onsen" has been recognized as a prestigious hot spring, selected for "Onsen Heritage," "New Japan Top 100 Onsen," and "Japan's Top 100 Onsen." Among the many Onsen Ryokan across the whole country, it is said that only about 1% are "completely natural free-flowing hot springs." At Namari Onsen, you can enjoy 100% natural spring water in its pure state—untouched by heating, dilution, or circulation.
Ryokan Fuji San, Shirozaru Hot Spring.
Fujisan Ryokan is a three-story wooden building with a historical charm, reminiscent of the bathhouse in "Spirited Away." Namari Onsen boasts a 600-year history and was established as an Onsen Ryokan in 1786 for public use. Guests can enjoy four bathing facilities, including Japan's deepest natural rock bath, "Shiranoyu."

You can freely enjoy alcoholic beverages, other drink services, and snacks. ・Opened on May 16, 2021: "Lounge Fuji" Located in the lower hall of Fujisan Ryokan, built to extend over the clear stream of the Toyosawa River, which is now difficult to construct near. Here, you can experience the murmuring of the river, the chirping of birds, and the changing seasons up close. ・Thirteen-Month Lobby Lounge The sofas, lamps, telephones, and even the smallest details within the facility are designer-selected, creating a relaxed and elegant atmosphere.
The sauna room features a design inspired by the works of Hanamaki's renowned fairy tale author, "Kenji Miyazawa," such as "The Bears of Nametoko Mountain" and the silhouette of "Kenji-san." You can also enjoy self-pouring steam with a sauna stove inspired by the Galactic Railroad. Here, you can experience a standing cold bath with an average depth of 1.25m, similar to the average depth of Japan's deepest natural rock hot spring, "Shirouen no Yu," while relaxing outdoors with views of the Toyosawa River and Shiraito Falls.
Kenji Miyazawa, the author of novels such as "Night on the Galactic Railroad" and "The Restaurant of Many Orders," frequently visited our Property due to his familial ties with our family from a young age. In his fairy tale "The Bears of Nametoko Mountain," Kenji Miyazawa wrote, "It heals stomach pain and even cures wounds. The leaden hot spring..." While there are other accommodations said to have been loved by Kenji Miyazawa, our Property is the only one featured in his works. Additionally, the Ryokan "Fujisan Ryokan" served as the setting for the novel "Silver Double Suicide" (Shirogane Shinju) by Torahiko Tamiya.
