  • Happy moments

    I stayed here for the first time, inviting two friends from out of town. I had heard great reviews from people who had used Yuya Suizen and was told it was worth visiting at least once. The staff’s hospitality was excellent, and the Room was clean and extremely comfortable. The hydrangeas in the lounge and throughout the property, along with the furnishings, were tasteful and beautiful. Breakfast was delicious, and we had a truly happy time! I’d love to come again with my family.

Notice from the Accommodation

  • [Important Notice] Accommodation Tax will be introduced from July 1, 2026.

    Thank you very much for your continued patronage of Matsuya Honkan.

    Starting July 1, 2026, Kumamoto Prefecture will implement an Accommodation Tax system.
    Accordingly, for stays on or after that date, we will collect an Accommodation Tax of JPY 200 per person per night at the front desk, separate from the Accommodation Fee.

    Please note that this tax is not included in the price shown at the time of Reservation.

    For dinner, you can choose from two distinctive kaiseki courses, or enjoy a meal at our annex restaurant.

    ■ “Local & Regional Kaiseki”
    Our signature kaiseki featuring Kumamoto’s seasonal ingredients and local specialties.
    Savor sashimi delivered directly from Tasaki Market, shabu-shabu with our specially selected dashi broth, and kamameshi rice cooked with Aso’s underground spring water—delighting in the blessings of each season.

    ■ “Matsuya Gozen”
    A luxurious set meal served in lighter portions, prepared with carefully selected ingredients.
    Enjoy small servings of beautifully presented seasonal dishes, including our famous basashi (horse sashimi).

    ■ Annex Restaurant “Higo Dining Soro”
    At the dining venue attached to the annex, we offer à la carte dishes such as lava-grilled horse meat, Akaushi beef, and Aso jidori chicken.
    Perfectly paired with local sake, it’s a casual way to fully enjoy Kumamoto’s flavors.

    A gender-segregated large public bath with sauna, opened in the annex in 2023.
    The facility includes a large bath, sauna, self-service löyly, cold plunge pool, outdoor air bathing area, and an exclusive lounge.
    In a carefully designed space where you can experience the history and culture of Suizenji Park,
    enjoy a moment to refresh both body and mind.

    *All Plans include a “Annex SPA Sauna ‘Yuya Suizen’” 1-hour admission ticket as a special benefit.
