Miyakowasure no Yado Koorogi Rou
Ishikawa Prefecture/KagaYamanaka Onsen loved by Matsuo Basho. Only six rooms, a tranquil time away from the city's hustle and bustle.
Enjoy moments of savoring seasonal ingredients while admiring the scenery of the four seasons, forgetting the hustle and bustle of the city, and relaxing at Miyakowasure. Located near Koorogi Bridge, our property has been in operation for over a hundred years. With the theme of "Miyakowasure," we offer a tranquil and relaxing retreat with only six rooms. Experience warm and familial hospitality amidst the breath of nature in all four seasons.
We stayed for two nights from 7/18 (Sat) in a Japanese-Western Room with a large open-air bath.Just as advertised as “the largest in Hokuriku,” the open-air bath was spacious—a luxurious space where adults can fully stretch out their arms and legs. That said, it does require some consideration for women. Across the river is a long-established restaurant; during business hours their windows are left open, so you do feel conscious of being seen. About 30–50 cm around the tub has no screening at all, so I felt it would be helpful to have reed screens or bamboo blinds available so guests who are concerned can adjust them themselves. My husband didn’t mind at all and was completely satisfied—he still says it was the best open-air bath he’s ever had.Since there was no explanation on arrival, we weren’t sure at first, but we were amazed (and impressed) that we didn’t run into other guests in the elevator. The Room layout was extremely practical.Right next to the elevator is a walk-in closet with air conditioning, so you can hang clothes on one side and use the other side to dry wet towels and such. There is also a separate door and staircase used by attendants to bring in-room meals directly to the tatami living area without passing through.Because the living-room windows face near Korogi Bridge, people crossing the bridge could look down and make eye contact with us—shy guests might find this uncomfortable.About inside the Accommodation: there is a quiet, relaxing lounge on another floor. Each chair has great taste; I loved the design so much that I kept stopping by whenever I thought of it.There’s also a terrace overlooking the night sky and nature—it felt wonderfully open. The food was excellent—truly nothing to complain about. There were also hearty meat dishes that younger guests would enjoy; everything was delicious and we finished it all.In casual conversation with our attendant, we learned that the homemade desserts are made by the young proprietress herself. The melon bread panna cotta and strawberry mousse were incredibly good. They were so good that my plan to take leftovers from family members who don’t like sweets fell through (laugh).Overall, this Accommodation was perfect for resetting both body and mind.It was well worth driving eight hours each way in our own car. Thank you to my husband—and sincere thanks as well to everyone at Korogi-ro for your kindness and attentive service. Our attendant’s warm personality and gentle consideration were truly soothing.Even shop staff around Yamanaka Onsen town kindly spoke to us when we seemed lost.Including all of that, we had a wonderful time. The photo is breakfast.
もっぴ~ 9/21/2026We had a wonderfully relaxing stay in our Room. The spacious, beautifully appointed Room, the open-air bath while listening to the gentle sound of the river, and the truly delicious cuisine supported by carefully prepared dashi made for an incredibly luxurious and unforgettable time. Although it was described as “quality over quantity,” we were more than satisfied with the generous portions as well—every dish, including crab and fish, was outstanding and deeply impressive. We visited to celebrate my mother’s retirement, and she was thrilled, saying she had never had such delicious food before. With a bath in the Room and in-room dining, our family was able to unwind at our own pace; we felt completely refreshed and ready to do our best again from tomorrow. The staff were efficient, cheerful, and welcoming, making our stay very comfortable. Thank you very much—we would love to visit again!

Throughout the year, the owner personally selects the ingredients used in our cuisine. Additionally, our establishment holds the auction rights at Hashidate Port, allowing the owner, who has years of experience as a chef, to carefully procure the finest ingredients. The owner personally attends the auctions and visits brokers to handpick the ingredients served to our guests with their own eyes and hands. About Hashidate Port... Located just 30km offshore from Hashidate Port, the seabed where warm and cold currents meet is rich in nutrients, resulting in crabs and seafood packed with fresh, flavorful meat. The fish caught that day are auctioned on the same day, ensuring freshness and exceptional taste.
