My first time at Zao Onsen. I love sulfur springs, and I thoroughly enjoyed both the indoor bath and the open-air bath. It was lightly raining, but they had a hat-like cover (like what Jizo statues wear) available so my head wouldn’t get wet. Thanks to that, I was able to relax in the open-air bath as well.\nThe meals were also excellent—Yamagata beef and all the other dishes were delicious. The rice was Tsuyahime, making for a high-quality dinner with local ingredients.\nThanks to the staff’s warm smiles and attentive service, I had a wonderful time.

Hachiemonnoyu “Indoor Bath”
Zao Kokusai Hotel’s signature Onsen, “Hachiuemon-no-Yu.” Featuring exposed log beams and a soaring ceiling up to 6.5 m high, the softly lit interior creates a refined Japanese ambiance. Enjoy a truly relaxing moment surrounded by the scent of sulfur and the warmth of wood, with beautiful seasonal scenery unfolding before your eyes. ●Indoor Bath A fully glass-walled bath with an open, airy feel. The men’s and women’s baths switch at set times. ●Open-Air Bath In the stone-built open-air bath, you can enjoy two tubs with different temperatures. (Available even during winter.) ●Footbath There is also a footbath area in the post-bath lounge in front of the large public bath, offering views of the seasonal scenery.
