Proud of our large public bath! Enjoy Zao’s milky-white Onsen with free-flowing hot spring water.

Please enjoy the ultimate Onsen experience at Zao Kokusai Hotel with the skin-beautifying, milky-white free-flowing natural hot spring “Hachiemon-no-Yu,” as well as three private baths (additional fee applies).

  • My first time at Zao Onsen. I love sulfur springs, and I thoroughly enjoyed both the indoor bath and the open-air bath. It was lightly raining, but they had a hat-like cover (like what Jizo statues wear) available so my head wouldn’t get wet. Thanks to that, I was able to relax in the open-air bath as well.\nThe meals were also excellent—Yamagata beef and all the other dishes were delicious. The rice was Tsuyahime, making for a high-quality dinner with local ingredients.\nThanks to the staff’s warm smiles and attentive service, I had a wonderful time.

  • The Room, meals, and staff were all wonderful, and I was able to relax. The Onsen is strongly acidic, and I felt re-energized.

Remarks
Bathing is not available from 11:00–12:00 and 19:00–19:30 due to cleaning. * The white particles floating in the bath and the milky appearance of the water are “yunohana” (natural mineral deposits). Common in natural hot springs, these sulfur-containing minerals have beneficial properties and are not impurities. * Guests with tattoos are kindly asked to refrain from using the large public bath and open-air bath.
