In the serene mountain valley of Yufuin, where the air is crystal clear, a new Property with detached accommodations has been established amidst a natural forest of lush greenery in varying shades. Opening the door to the forest reveals a space embraced by nature, with birdsong and arches of trees welcoming you. At "Kusayane no Yado Ryunohige / Bettei Yumuta," we warmly welcome only 10 groups of guests—5 in detached accommodations and 5 in the main building. Indulge in kaiseki cuisine made with abundant local ingredients, enjoy the Onsen with a view of Mount Yufu, and experience the luxury of reserving an entire building for an extraordinary escape from the everyday.
The bath and the meals were excellent. The dinner felt a bit too much, but they kindly arranged the leftover meat into the next morning’s breakfast.The staff who took care of us were very kind, and we were able to enjoy our stay with peace of mind.This is an Accommodation I would love to stay at again.
This was my first stay at this Accommodation, and I stayed in the “Kunugi” Room.After reading Reviews beforehand, I arrived excited about the view from the Room and the generous meals—and in conclusion: it was amazing!!The view of Mt. Yufu from the open-air bath in the Room was breathtaking, and the interior had a lovely retro feel. Above all, it was incredibly spacious!That said, I personally don’t do well with insects, so coexisting with nature was a bit challenging (lol).I didn’t use the open-air bath much; instead, I enjoyed taking in the great outdoors through the glass window of the indoor bath.It made me think, “I want to come in winter!” and “I definitely want to come again!”—I’m already checking my schedule.Just as the Reviews said, the meals were very filling.There’s no way you won’t end up full!Everything was so delicious that I even had seconds of rice. They also offered to make onigiri for a late-night snack, so I gladly took them up on it (lol).After dinner, a staff member delivered the onigiri to my Room.I’ve stayed at many Ryokan across Kyushu, but this Accommodation is outstanding in terms of value for money and hospitality—an unquestionable 5 stars!!Seeing is believing.Highly recommended!!In winter, with clearer air, I’m sure you can see even more beautiful stars—so I’d love to visit again later this year or early next year.Thank you so much for such wonderful memories.

Nestled in the lush greenery of Yufuin, "Hanare Ryu no Hige" and "Bettei Yumuta" are tranquil cottages. With only 10 rooms, each uniquely designed, they offer a private and extraordinary retreat.
Each Room is uniquely designed, and all Rooms are equipped with a semi-open-air bath and a wooden deck.
Meals are crafted by a young chef who trained for nearly 10 years at luxury Ryokans in Yufuin and Beppu. Enjoy monthly changing creative Kaiseki cuisine, centered around carefully selected "Oita Wagyu" from various Kyushu prefectures, along with local vegetables and mountain delicacies, in a private dining room. You can choose how to enjoy "Oita Wagyu" from barbecue, sukiyaki, or shabu-shabu.
