Here are some recommended nearby spots where you can enjoy the rich nature of the southern foothills of Mt. Yatsugatake and the refreshing highland air.
■ Doryu Falls (10 minutes by car)
A waterfall in the Kawamata River Valley with a 10 m drop and 15 m width. It was named Doryu Falls for its mystical appearance, as water streams down like silk threads between moss-covered rocks.
■ Makiba Park (5 minutes by car)
On the southern foothills of Mt. Yatsugatake at an elevation of 1,400 m, this vast pastureland is home to grazing cows and sheep, with beautiful views of Mt. Yatsugatake, Mt. Fuji, and more.
■ Utsukushimori Observatory (10 minutes by car)
From the walking trail leading to this observatory at an elevation of 1,542 m, you can overlook Kiyosato Highlands. On clear days, enjoy a sweeping panorama of Mt. Yatsugatake, the Southern Alps, Mt. Fuji, the Chichibu Mountains, and more.
