Onsen Property located within Daisetsuzan National Park, where you can enjoy five hot springs and pristine nature.

Asahidake Onsen "Yumoto Yukomanso" is a Property located within Daisetsuzan National Park, where you can enjoy five natural hot spring sources and the great outdoors. Situated at Asahidake in the Daisetsuzan mountain range, Yukomanso is surrounded by majestic nature and beautiful alpine plants, beloved by many hikers. In spring, you can see budding plants amidst the lingering snow; in summer, vibrant alpine flowers in full bloom; in autumn, Japan's earliest autumn foliage; and in winter, the finest powder snow. The Onsen at Yukomanso has been continuously flowing since its discovery in 1914, providing over 300 liters of water per minute as its source. All five hot spring sources are natural free-flowing springs. Without any temperature adjustments, the spring water is directly channeled into the baths, allowing you to truly feel the blessings of nature. Water, air, Onsen... Spend a luxurious time surrounded by the wonders of nature.

  • We had the pleasure of staying at Yumoto Yukomaso, a member of the Japan Association for Protecting Secluded Hot Springs. The location, Onsen, and meals were all in perfect harmony at a consistently high level, allowing us to fully enjoy everything this Accommodation has to offer. What left the strongest impression was the Onsen overlooking lush spring greenery in a wonderfully rustic setting. Soaking in the water while surrounded by birdsong and the crystal-clear air of Mt. Asahidake was truly exceptional. The cuisine was also outstanding, showcasing the chef’s dedication—deeply flavorful dashi that brought out the best in each ingredient, and beautifully presented dishes plated with great care that conveyed genuine craftsmanship. Our Room was Superior Twin Room 401. We were soothed by birdsong and a refreshing breeze through the window, and thanks to their carefully selected spring water and comfortable mattress—together with the benefits of the Onsen—we felt deeply restored both body and mind. Our walk around Mt. Asahidake is also an unforgettable memory. This has become one of our favorite Accommodations, and we will definitely return.

  • It was my first time in 30 years to enjoy salt-crusted grilling, since having sea bass cooked this way in Paris. Abalone wrapped in kelp and baked in a salt crust—truly moving.I tried the baths as well (Yukoman, Shikoro, and Kami-gami no Yu), and my favorite was the original spring (gypsum spring).I’m sorry I checked out without breakfast, but Mt. Asahidake was clear, so I took the 6:50 a.m. ropeway up to Sugatami Station. Seeing Mt. Asahidake on a clear day is breathtaking. From the ropeway on the right side, I could also see Mt. Chubetsu (?) . It clouded over in less than an hour, but since Sugatami Station is above the tree line, you can see many alpine plants with just a five-minute walk.I consider this a true treasure. I hope both the Asahidake Ropeway and Mt. Asahidake become even more widely known.
