A cozy Accommodation themed as a “seaside villa,” where you can enjoy breathtaking views of Oarai Coast and the bounty of the sea.

Approximately 90 minutes from the city center. A small property with 8 rooms located on the shores of Oarai Beach, rooted in the coastal resort culture of the Enlightenment era. The interior is modern yet filled with the warmth of wood, and the guest rooms are designed in a villa style with seaside verandas. Enjoy simple countryside cuisine and local sake at the seaside dining table, relax in the seaside hot spring bath surrounded by the sound of waves, read peacefully in the library, or stroll along the coast of Oarai Prefectural Natural Park, offering the "luxury of simplicity" not found in urban society.

  • The Room was clean and thoroughly well-maintained, and we had a very comfortable stay. The bath in the Room was also spacious and relaxing. The service was excellent, and we would like to visit again.Just one suggestion: if possible, we would have appreciated having hand soap at the sink.We would be grateful if you could consider this.If we have the opportunity, we would love to stay again.

  • Blessed with wonderful weather, I was able to spend truly quality time while listening to the sound of the waves. The staff were quietly attentive whenever needed, allowing me to relax and enjoy a calm stay.Fresh, beautiful flowers were arranged throughout the Accommodation, and all the tableware I held—whether in my Room, the dining area, or the lounge—was warm-to-the-touch Kasama ware. As I spent time there, I felt as though my mind gradually became more settled. At breakfast, from the raised seating area overlooking the shore, a pleasant breeze and the sound of waves drifted in through slightly open windows, leaving me with a clear and refreshed feeling. As other Reviews mentioned, there didn’t seem to be any vegetable dishes at breakfast—I understood what they meant. Still, everything was wonderful: the straw-fermented natto had a rich soybean flavor; there was grilled fish; Hinuma clam soup; and perfectly cooked delicious rice. I truly felt this Accommodation’s hospitality. Thank you for such a lovely meal. The shampoo and soaps in the bath were also high-quality herbal products, and by using the alternating schedule system I was able to enjoy both baths very comfortably.Listening to quiet background music that matched the sound of the waves, I was able to rest pleasantly even after bathing.I left without remembering to express my thanks properly, but thank you as well for your thoughtful consideration for Diamond members.Next time, I would love to come with my husband and spend an unhurried time listening to the waves with a book in hand.To everyone at this Accommodation who carries such a gentle atmosphere—thank you very much indeed.P.S. Inspired by my stay, on my way home I immediately bought flowers at a florist and displayed them at home to extend that lingering feeling... but if I want even a small step closer first comes cleaning my Room (sweat). I’ll do my best!Thank you for such an amazing time!

A seaside villa inheriting the leisure culture of the Enlightenment era.

A serene retreat located on the shoreline of the scenic "Oarai." This Property carries on the legacy of modern seaside recreation inspired by Western medicine during the Meiji era, which marked the origin of Oarai as a coastal resort. Designed as a healing getaway for modern guests, it offers a relaxing stay where you can enjoy barefoot comfort in traditional yukata.

Terrace

This is a property where the sea breeze flows through. Enjoy an extraordinary and special time by the vast ocean. The rich sound of waves coming from the distant horizon. The sky and sea changing colors whimsically. Experience a 'rest' embraced by the primitive and simple nature.

Chair

Experience the simplicity of smooth wood while wearing a yukata. We have crafted comfortable chairs from a furniture workshop in Yagō, Ibaraki Prefecture. Enjoy moments of barefoot living, reminiscent of a traditional Japanese house, while savoring specialty coffee or literature.

Ingredients

The luxury of "Hitachi" lies in experiencing fresh textures. Enjoy countryside cuisine reflecting the four seasons paired with Tsukinoi sake or Hitachino Nest beer. Ingredients are selected from port fish shops and vegetable markets. Relish the freshly made textures served on Ibaraki craft and Kasama ware.

Terrace

Based on the Edo period's tide therapy site, the modern Oarai Beach was established during the Meiji era for preventive medicine purposes. Continuing this wellness culture, the property features a bathhouse for thermal bathing, a relaxation room, and a rooftop terrace for sea air bathing.

In front of the property is the scenic spot 'Oarai'. Explore the beach and visit the shrine.

On the seaside of the Property, you will find the scenic rocky formations of Oarai within the Oarai Prefectural Natural Park. From spring to summer, dramatic rock landscapes shaped by strong tides emerge, while in winter, it is renowned as a spot for observing sea smoke. The Property is located between the sea and the forest of Oarai Isosaki Shrine, making it an ideal base for nature walks. Oarai Isosaki Shrine is an ancient shrine known for its "Kamiiso Torii," a sacred gate standing on coastal rocks. Established in 856 during the mid-Heian period, it was devastated during wartime but later restored by Tokugawa Mitsukuni in the Edo period. From its grounds atop a hundred-step staircase, visitors can enjoy stunning views of Oarai's coastline. The 1.8 km stretch of rocky shoreline along the coast dates back to geological formations from the Cretaceous to Paleogene periods and serves as a geosite. The intertidal zone features a rich ecosystem as a biotope, while coastal plants such as beach morning glories and vitex thrive on sandy shores nearby.
