Approximately 90 minutes from the city center. A small property with 8 rooms located on the shores of Oarai Beach, rooted in the coastal resort culture of the Enlightenment era. The interior is modern yet filled with the warmth of wood, and the guest rooms are designed in a villa style with seaside verandas. Enjoy simple countryside cuisine and local sake at the seaside dining table, relax in the seaside hot spring bath surrounded by the sound of waves, read peacefully in the library, or stroll along the coast of Oarai Prefectural Natural Park, offering the "luxury of simplicity" not found in urban society.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Accommodation. This was my second stay, and it’s still very much to my taste. All of the staff were extremely kind and pleasant.I used the large public bath a total of four times! I especially love the balcony just before the bath—after bathing, I sit on the balcony, feel the sea breeze, and cool down as I dry off.As for the meals, it seems there has been a change in who prepares them, and the menu has a distinctive twist. Preferences may vary.Also, last time I stayed I remember feeling that the portion sizes were just right or perhaps slightly small, but this time there was more than I could finish.

The location was also great, and I was able to relax at a leisurely pace.However, next time I plan to request in advance that breakfast be something like “one type of fish plus natto.” *This is not a complaint—it's just that I can’t finish a large meal anymore as I’ve gotten older.*

A serene retreat located on the shoreline of the scenic "Oarai." This Property carries on the legacy of modern seaside recreation inspired by Western medicine during the Meiji era, which marked the origin of Oarai as a coastal resort. Designed as a healing getaway for modern guests, it offers a relaxing stay where you can enjoy barefoot comfort in traditional yukata.
This is a property where the sea breeze flows through. Enjoy an extraordinary and special time by the vast ocean. The rich sound of waves coming from the distant horizon. The sky and sea changing colors whimsically. Experience a 'rest' embraced by the primitive and simple nature.
Experience the simplicity of smooth wood while wearing a yukata. We have crafted comfortable chairs from a furniture workshop in Yagō, Ibaraki Prefecture. Enjoy moments of barefoot living, reminiscent of a traditional Japanese house, while savoring specialty coffee or literature.
The luxury of "Hitachi" lies in experiencing fresh textures. Enjoy countryside cuisine reflecting the four seasons paired with Tsukinoi sake or Hitachino Nest beer. Ingredients are selected from port fish shops and vegetable markets. Relish the freshly made textures served on Ibaraki craft and Kasama ware.
Based on the Edo period's tide therapy site, the modern Oarai Beach was established during the Meiji era for preventive medicine purposes. Continuing this wellness culture, the property features a bathhouse for thermal bathing, a relaxation room, and a rooftop terrace for sea air bathing.
On the seaside of the Property, you will find the scenic rocky formations of Oarai within the Oarai Prefectural Natural Park. From spring to summer, dramatic rock landscapes shaped by strong tides emerge, while in winter, it is renowned as a spot for observing sea smoke. The Property is located between the sea and the forest of Oarai Isosaki Shrine, making it an ideal base for nature walks. Oarai Isosaki Shrine is an ancient shrine known for its "Kamiiso Torii," a sacred gate standing on coastal rocks. Established in 856 during the mid-Heian period, it was devastated during wartime but later restored by Tokugawa Mitsukuni in the Edo period. From its grounds atop a hundred-step staircase, visitors can enjoy stunning views of Oarai's coastline. The 1.8 km stretch of rocky shoreline along the coast dates back to geological formations from the Cretaceous to Paleogene periods and serves as a geosite. The intertidal zone features a rich ecosystem as a biotope, while coastal plants such as beach morning glories and vitex thrive on sandy shores nearby.

Air purifiers are provided in all rooms and throughout the property, and we strive to maintain a clean environment by combining mechanical ventilation with natural airflow. ●Mask wearing is at each guest’s discretion. We will not ask guests to wear masks. ●For the time being, our staff will serve guests while wearing masks; however, depending on circumstances, mask use may become optional.
