Beppu Showa-en was established in the first year of the Showa era, located in Minami-Tateishi, Beppu City, with 30 guest rooms and a garden. Later, in the third year of the Heisei era, it was relocated to its current site, which was once a thriving gold mine and the former villa site of Shirakawa-kyo. The garden from that time remains intact, and the 6,000-tsubo property includes 11 buildings with detached guest rooms and high-quality onsen sourced from gold veins, still serving long-time patrons as a regular accommodation.

The cuisine at Beppu Showa-en, crafted with seasonal ingredients and Bungo's specialties, offers authentic kaiseki dishes that delight both the eyes and the palate. Warm dishes are served warm, and cold dishes are served cold, with heartfelt hospitality. Both dinner and breakfast can be enjoyed in your Room. Savor the authentic kaiseki cuisine that can only be experienced here.
A 6000-tsubo site with a total of 11 Rooms. All Rooms feature an open-air bath or a hinoki bath, allowing you to enjoy Onsen anytime you like. Please select your desired Room from the five types, A to E.
This Ryokan features Onsen in all guest rooms, while the public bath is the open-air "Kin no Yu" bath with natural hot spring water. There is one location for men and one for women, but no indoor baths. As the property is situated in the hilly area of Beppu City, you can enjoy forest bathing in the open-air bath surrounded by trees. The chirping of birds resonates well, and the time spent soaking in the water is blissful.
