A long-established Ryokan with a classic charm, located about a 1-minute walk from Kusatsu’s famous Yubatake hot spring field.
Just a 1-minute walk from the famous Kusatsu Onsen attraction 'Yubatake'. The traditional Japanese-style Ryokan 'Naraya' exudes historical charm. Boasting a variety of Room types suitable for various travels and the 24-hour flowing Onsen 'Shirahata no Yu'.
Staying at Naraya for my first trip to Kusatsu Onsen was truly the best choice. From the moment I arrived until I left, I received warm, heartfelt hospitality in every situation, and I was able to relax and enjoy my stay. The staff’s thoughtful attention to detail could be felt throughout, making this a wonderful Accommodation that made me want to return. Both dinner and breakfast were served in a private dining room, allowing me to take my time in a calm atmosphere. Dinner in particular was outstanding—every dish from the appetizers to the final dessert was delicious, and there were fun touches such as having sushi prepared during the meal. It was such an enjoyable experience that I honestly thought, “I want to come back just for this food.”The Onsen was also excellent; my skin felt wonderfully smooth after bathing, and it may be my favorite water of any Onsen I’ve visited. The location is another highlight—just a short walk to Yubatake—so I enjoyed strolling around many times in the evening, at night, and again the next morning.I was completely satisfied with everything: the cuisine, the Onsen, the service, and the location. There are so many more wonderful things I could mention; it made my first trip to Kusatsu Onsen truly memorable.I would love to stay at Naraya again.Thank you very much for such a lovely time.
BLACKーd 8/3/2026Narayas, a long-established Accommodation, was truly comfortable. The meals were delicious both to the eye and the palate, and the free-flowing Onsen from the source was wonderful. I was especially impressed by the cucumber cut into a frog shape in one of the dishes.I really understood why Kusatsu Onsen is so popular.Thank you very much.
