Limited to three groups of guests per day, Sato-yama Auberge Maki no Oto. Located in Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture, near Gokayama, famous for its World Heritage Gassho-zukuri architecture. With convenient access, just a 5-minute drive from Fukumi IC on the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway, you can visit Shirakawa-go, Kanazawa, and Takayama.
Thank you very much for taking care of us during our stay. When I called before our visit to ask about a few concerns, I had a wonderful impression, and as expected, this was an Accommodation where we were truly comforted by the genuine kindness of everyone. All of the meals were carefully prepared with gentle seasoning, and even for someone like me who doesn’t eat much, the portions were just right, which I really appreciated. The Room was also so comfortable that simply gazing at the peaceful scenery from it made me forget the fatigue of everyday life. My husband and I are already talking about coming back during the snowy season. Thank you again very much.

On my first trip to Toyama, I must admit I wasn’t familiar with Makinooto, but I found it on IKYU and made a Reservation—and it turned out to be an unforgettable, lovely experience. The view from the Room was a peaceful rural landscape; the cherry blossoms were at their best, and the daffodils were charming as well. After relaxing in the lobby atmosphere and taking my time checking in, I found the Room spacious and perfectly appointed—nothing lacking, nothing excessive—and I could truly unwind. The food was flawless. I honestly want to come back again soon (laugh). I was also able to relax in the bath, and everything was just wonderful. With its gentle, unhurried charm that’s hard to put into words, it truly soothed my heart. Also, the cherry blossoms at Mukaino—just a short walk from the Accommodation—were in full bloom as well. I stopped by on my way home, and several locals were there taking photos; chatting with them made it an especially memorable trip. To all of your staff—the chef and the proprietress as well—thank you very much for everything.
