An accommodation featuring a series of traditional Sukiya-style detached rooms surrounded by a 1,500-tsubo garden, overlooking Miyajima and the Seto Inland Sea.

On a gentle slope overlooking the distant Miyajima, the garden Property "Sekitei" stands serenely. From the Room, the view of the Seto islands beyond the hedges cleanses the soul. Stepping into the garden, the ridgelines of mountains resembling a landscape painting unfold behind, stirring the heart. Realizing that this Property embodies the charm of the "azumaya" nestled at the foot of the mountains depicted in the landscape painting and the garden's ambiance, one cannot help but be impressed. Thus, one feels compelled to spend time here, living like a hermit in tranquility. (A certain guest) May it be a night of chasing clouds over the mountains, sharing cups under the moonlight shimmering on the sea, and engaging in cheerful conversations. My friend, my beloved.

  • We truly felt your wonderful service and hospitality throughout our stay. The location, the meals, the baths, and all of the staff were genuinely excellent. You even prepared kaiseki cuisine for our 9-year-old son and accommodated a change to our breakfast time. Both the dinner kaiseki and breakfast were absolutely delicious, and it was clear how much care and effort went into them.

Introduction of the Accommodation

Meal
Meal

The joy of meals during a journey lies in encountering the seasonal ingredients of the region. Even during a one-night, two-day trip, you will enjoy two lunches, dinner, and breakfast at the property. What will you eat for lunch before dinner at the property, and what about lunch after departure? These are the words of a respected owner of a small restaurant in Kyoto. It is a teaching I keep in mind while planning monthly menus. (Words of the proprietor)

Onsen and bath
Onsen and bath

The Onsen at this charming small property has been thoughtfully designed with various styles. One features the ambiance created by a wooden bathhouse and the flickering light of lanterns in the open-air bath. Another includes a rock bath leading to an open-air bath surrounded by greenery. Come and enjoy the sound of water in the bath late at night. After bathing, we offer cold tea and espresso in the morning, and chilled beer in a glass in the evening.

Strolling garden

A free space where you can do what you love in your favorite place. Feel the vastness of the sky. As you stroll through the garden, you'll discover a hidden retreat. This garden is ranked 12th in the Japanese Garden Rankings, selected by experts from around the world. The garden features a gentle slope with a view of Miyajima and the Seto Inland Sea in front, and the beautiful rocky Keigoyama mountain rising behind. It is designed as a strolling garden centered around a pond and a famous pine tree, with the main house and detached buildings spreading their wings around it. Step into the garden at dusk, and you'll find a picturesque scene akin to a shadow play, including even the presence of our guests. While feeling the breath of fellow guests, your privacy is still preserved. This is the true essence of Sekitei. The sea, mountains, sky, moon, and stars—all become part of the borrowed scenery.

Spring

The fence overlooking the sea is adorned with cherry blossoms, creating a scene of floating flower rafts on the ocean. After the cherry blossoms, 100-year-old wisteria blooms, followed by vibrant red azaleas that color the garden.

Strolling Garden - Summer

In the lush midsummer, the garden becomes a perfect place to relax freely wherever you like.

Strolling Garden - Autumn

The autumn foliage season is a parade of colors, including the full moon reflected on the pond.

A chilly garden, but a wood stove awaits in the hidden retreat at the back.
