Itoyanagi Bekkan Hanare no Tei Wajoen
Yamanashi Prefecture/IshiwaNestled quietly within the serene streets of the Isawa Onsen village, this Property is a hidden retreat offering renowned Onsen and exquisite cuisine.
Itoyanagi Bekkan Hanare no Tei Wajoen is a Property featuring open-air baths and heartfelt creative cuisine made with fresh seasonal ingredients. Enjoy a tranquil moment as if time has stopped.
This is a wonderful Ryokan that moves me every time I visit. The Room, baths, cuisine, the staff’s smiles, and the overall atmosphere throughout the property are all exceptional, and time seems to slow down. Both the fresh enthusiasm of the younger staff and the understated attentiveness of the experienced staff naturally bring a smile. The welcome service includes soft drinks as well as wine—and that wine is surprisingly delicious. Breakfast also comes with a choice of drinks; the 100% peach juice is pure peach—peach! peach! peach!—and absolutely worth trying at least once. And the cuisine is outstanding. Though the chef is young, everything—from seasonal menus and presentation to masterful use of dashi—is superb. The creativity is remarkable, and the expressive artistry of each dish (including the tableware) is truly next level. The view from the open-air bath in our Room—sunlit green trees against a blue sky—was beautiful, and soaking in an open-air bath during a sudden downpour was an experience with its own special charm. This is a lovely kappo-style Ryokan that soothes me every time I stay.Having visited in spring and summer, I would love to return in autumn next time.
ともぞう娘 8/1/2026This Accommodation was outstanding in every way—Onsen, cuisine, Room, and hospitality. It was an extremely hot day and we arrived early, but the staff noticed us right away, guided our car, and welcomed us at the entrance. They also showed us to our Room immediately, which was reassuring as I was traveling with my elderly mother. They had prepared grab bars and a step stool for the bath in our Room in advance—truly attentive hospitality. That day there was the Fuefuki River Isawa cormorant fishing event and fireworks, so they kindly started dinner earlier for us. Thanks to that, we could enjoy a relaxed, exquisite kaiseki meal without rushing. We even had the pleasure of meeting the head chef; the medicinal broth warmed both body and soul. Everything was wonderful—the flavors and tableware were exactly to our taste.Just one thing: it was disappointing that my mother, who stayed behind instead of going to see the cormorant fishing, couldn’t watch the night baseball broadcast (BS TV) she had been looking forward to.The large public bath felt like it was reserved just for us, and we enjoyed drinks while relaxing in the lobby. A truly exceptional Accommodation. We will definitely return. Thank you very much.
