A hidden accommodation with 12 rooms nestled in the secluded Onsen of Yunokami, Aizu, featuring guest room baths with natural hot spring water flow.

Since the Edo period, Yunokami Onsen in Minamiaizu has been a bustling hot spring retreat. Nestled along the majestic gorge where the Okawa (Agagawa) River flows, the secluded Property "Toryukan" offers an intimate stay with only 12 rooms. Each room is equipped with an Onsen bath featuring natural hot spring water directly sourced from the spring. Guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the gorge while relaxing in private open-air Onsen baths or the large communal bath. Savor exceptional Japanese cuisine paired with carefully selected sake chosen by a sake sommelier. As a "Property of Seasonal Beauty and Elegance," we warmly welcome you to spend a special time surrounded by stunning nature.

  • The wash area has a retro feel, but it is clean, and the Japanese-style three-way mirror and small desk give it the character of a long-established Ryokan. In addition to floor chairs, there were also comfortable cushions, showing thoughtful attention to relaxing in a tatami Room. Since we chose a Room along the gorge, we spent time simply gazing at the rocks and river below or lounging on the tatami. The Onsen was of course wonderful, but above all, the meals were outstanding. The dashi broth was truly delicious, and with every bite I felt glad we came here. Every dish was carefully crafted, and I was impressed by combinations I had never tasted before. The staff’s hospitality was attentive as well, making our stay very comfortable.

  • This is our annual one-night trip combined with visiting a family grave in Fukushima. This year, we stayed at “Toryukan” in Minamiaizu. Unfortunately it rained, but the cool air of Minamiaizu was a real relief from the intense heat in Chiba, and we were able to truly relax. This time we stayed in a Room with a private bath. It was so spacious that it almost felt too big for just two of us (laugh). Surrounded by deep greenery, we felt refreshed by nature’s energy. The Onsen is a high-quality simple alkaline spring that left our skin smooth and silky.Above all, the meals were truly delicious—flavor, presentation, tableware—calling it gourmet cuisine would not be an exaggeration. We were very satisfied. There was a lounge area just outside the bath area…we would have been happy if there had been some drinks available there.
