  • The website highlighted the dining, and indeed both dinner and breakfast were as beautiful and delicious as expected. The service was attentive, making our stay very comfortable. The view from the terrace is well worth seeing, so don’t miss it.

  • I had always seen Mt. Fuji from afar, but the sheer grandeur of seeing it up close—its vast foothills spreading out below—was truly magnificent. The stairs were a little scary, but the panoramic view from the rooftop and the open-air bath at dusk were very relaxing. The Room had large windows that created a wonderful sense of openness, and the full futon set was very comfortable to sleep on, helping me recover from travel fatigue. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, with refined and gentle flavors. If it were possible to choose options such as fewer dishes for dinner through a Plan, I would appreciate it even more. The small flower arrangements in the hallway and the scented sachets in the Room gave a charming atmosphere of a classic Japanese Ryokan. The quietness of the lake was also very calming. It was my first time at Lake Kawaguchi, and while it was truly beautiful, I was surprised by how many overseas visitors there were—more than I had imagined—and I couldn’t help wondering whether overtourism might become an issue. Thank you very much.

About Hygiene Measures
■ Wakakusa no Yado Maruei: Infection Prevention Measures Although COVID-19 has been reclassified under Japan’s Infectious Disease Control Law from Category II to Category V, we will continue basic infection prevention measures for the time being, placing the safety and health of our valued guests and our employees first. We sincerely ask for your continued understanding and cooperation. ■ During your stay, wearing a mask, etc. is optional and left to each guest’s personal discretion. ■ For our staff as well, we respect individual choice; whether to wear a mask, etc. is left to each person’s judgment. Thank you again for your understanding. In addition, all staff thoroughly conduct temperature checks before coming to work and confirm and record their physical condition upon arrival, ensuring strict health and hygiene management. ■ Upon arrival (entry), we ask for your cooperation with hand sanitizing at the entrance and temperature screening using a non-contact automatic thermometer. ■ For public baths, dining venues, etc., we limit the number of users and usage times to help prevent closed spaces, crowding, and close contact. ■ Karaoke, esthetic services (spa treatments), mahjong, and banquet companions have been permanently discontinued following a three-year suspension period. Thank you for your understanding.
