A soothing Accommodation in a nostalgic setting surrounded by unspoiled nature, where you can forget the bustle of everyday life.

At "Otogi no Oka," overlooking tranquil rural landscapes and satoyama, there are 11 uniquely designed rooms, including 3 newly renovated rooms opening in June 2024, as well as six private suite rooms called "Hanare 88," which were renovated in November 2021. Neither a Ryokan nor a Hotel, these rooms are perfect for spending a leisurely day. Relax in the natural flowing Onsen available in every room and unwind from daily stress. Return to your true self and enjoy a comfortable and peaceful time.

  • After five years, we finally had the chance to stay at Otogi no Yado Komeya.Over the past five years, we made several Reservations but had to Cancel the Reservation due to circumstances. This time, determined to make it happen, we went on a summer Onsen trip. The Room, hospitality, and cuisine were all outstanding. The free-flowing Onsen in particular felt like a high-quality lotion. We left feeling refreshed in both body and mind. This is our number-one Accommodation that we would love to visit again. Thank you for taking such great care of us.

  • The Onsen was outstanding in every way—both the large public bath and the open-air bath in the Room, including the water quality and temperature. The in-room amenities, including the projector, were excellent; it was a Room packed with everything you could wish for.If I had to mention one thing, I would have liked a bit of surprise with the meals like there was with the Room and baths. Personally, I don’t necessarily need a set course; I’d appreciate being able to choose à la carte items in advance—and even better if they could be served in the Room.

Unique hot spring quality found only here - all baths at Komeya feature natural free-flowing spring water.

The Onsen, praised for its smoothness that makes lotion unnecessary, is entirely fed by natural hot spring water. The piping is designed to preserve the quality of the spring by minimizing air exposure. Temperature adjustments are carefully managed by our bath attendants, and since the water flows directly from the source, it may be slightly hot. Enjoy the highly acclaimed natural flowing Onsen at Komeya, recognized even by experts.

Mist Sauna

The only luxurious sauna in Japan where you can fully immerse yourself in natural hot spring water: 100% natural hot spring mist sauna.

Immerse yourself in the sensation of smooth lotion enveloping your entire body... After enjoying the natural Onsen to your heart's content in our open-air baths and large communal baths, unwind in Japan's only rice-themed mist sauna, proudly offered by us. The moist air of the mist enhances heat transfer to your body, making it easier to sweat and maximizing the benefits when used before soaking in the Onsen.
