  • This is my seventh stay.

    This time, our main purpose was to stay at Baron.As always, the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and we had a very pleasant stay.We brought our dog with us, and we were happy that they gave him lots of attention while we were checking in.The Room was clean, and although three of us stayed together, it was very comfortable.It was our first time ordering breakfast, and the seafood rice bowl was delicious.We didn’t request breakfast at check-in and ordered it later at the front desk, but they remembered us even without us saying our name, which really impressed us.Thank you all for your wonderful hospitality.We’d love to come back again soon.Thank you very much.

  • The Room is spacious...

    The Room is spacious, and you can enjoy panoramic views of the ocean and Mt. Hakodate from the terrace.Perfectly located midway between Hakodate Morning Market and the Red Brick Warehouses.“Hasegawa Store” and “Seicomart” are very close by, which is convenient.The bathroom was easy to use, and the staff were very helpful.I would recommend it to others, and I’d like to stay again on my next visit.

● A Pioneer in Japan's Shipbuilding Industry Ryukichi Kawata inherited the title of baron from his father, Koichiro Kawata, who served as the third Governor of the Bank of Japan. After becoming the first president of Yokohama Dock, he came to Hakodate in 1906 to rebuild Hakodate Dock, successfully restoring it. ● The Creator of "Baron Potatoes" and a Contributor to Modern Agriculture Deeply interested in agriculture, he laid the foundation for modern farming by importing large agricultural machinery from countries like the United States. He also imported seed potatoes and improved their varieties to adapt to Japan's climate. These potatoes are what we now know as "Baron Potatoes."
