  • I stayed here again for the first time in five years. The food and service felt much improved, which was a pleasant surprise. For example, the rice at breakfast was excellent—among the best I’ve had in Yamagata.I also enjoyed chatting with the staff and had a great time.I’d like to visit again soon.

  • I stayed on a weekday right after the Golden Week holidays.I was completely satisfied with the meals, and also very satisfied with the staff’s service and hospitality.Since there are only a few guest rooms, I hardly ran into other guests, and I could enjoy the Onsen as well—so I was very satisfied. In fact, because no one was around, it almost felt a bit scary at night (in a funny way). The building is somewhat old in places, but it was properly cleaned, and it felt like a pleasant space filled with nice scents throughout. If there is one thing that could be improved, it would be that the tables during meals are quite close together, so I could hear all of other guests’ conversations.Rather than seating everyone tightly by the window with the great view, I would have preferred to sit with a comfortable amount of space between tables. Also, I thought it would be nice to have a few more drink options available in the lounge. That said, the in-room amenities were well stocked and it was an ideal Accommodation for relaxing at ease, so I will definitely stay again next time. The souvenir bread was delicious too.

“Wind and Trees Bath” A bath with a bench for half-body bathing, where Onsen water flows over your back. In winter only, it is enclosed with glass doors for weather protection. From April to October, you can enjoy an open-air feel with the breeze and the surrounding woodland trees. “Clay Ball Sauna” The sauna next to the Wind and Trees Bath is an ion sauna inspired by Korea’s Hwangto (yellow earth) sauna, featuring many clay balls from Otakazawa in Shiroishi City, a neighboring town. Ions released from the clay balls are said to promote blood circulation and help eliminate toxins through perspiration from the sweat glands. *The large public bath switches between men and women at 20:00. During a one-night stay, you can enjoy all baths with different atmospheres.*
