One of Tokyo’s premier locations, overlooking the Imperial Palace Outer Gardens and Hibiya Park

A standalone luxury Hotel in an exceptional location—within walking distance of Ginza, Marunouchi, and Tokyo Station, and directly connected to Hibiya Station. Since 2016, it has received the highest five-star rating in the “Hotel” category of the prestigious U.S. publication Forbes Travel Guide, and was also selected for Condé Nast Traveler’s “2026 Triple Crown Collection.” With warm Peninsula hospitality, we have welcomed guests from Japan and around the world. Inside, you will find 302 guest rooms and suites infused with authentic Japanese aesthetics, distinctive restaurants and bars, and a spa offering an ultimate sanctuary of relaxation in the heart of the city—delivering a truly Peninsula experience.

  • Everything is outstanding in every way. The staff are warm, courteous, and welcoming, the Room is spacious and very comfortable, and the room-service breakfast is delicious—I’m completely satisfied. It makes me want to stay again right away. The pool also offers wonderful views and is a relaxing space. I truly love The Peninsula.

  • We stayed for the first time at a special discounted rate to celebrate the IKYU email newsletter launch, and as it was also our wedding anniversary, it became a truly memorable and wonderful stay. Champagne was prepared in our Room, and we also received a warm message on a card. Most of the Hotel guests seemed to be from overseas, which made us feel as if we were in Hong Kong or another country, yet the staff’s service and hospitality were outstandingly Japanese and among the best we have experienced—even compared with other luxury Hotels in Japan. We would love to return on another special occasion.

As the eighth property in the collection, The Peninsula Tokyo opened in 2007. Inspired by traditional Japanese lanterns, the exterior design sets the tone for interiors and guest rooms where the signature “Peninsula Standard” blends with Japan’s timeless aesthetics. Museum-quality artworks throughout create a refined, vibrant atmosphere for an exceptional stay.

Room

Room

All 302 guest rooms, including 47 suites—among the largest in central Tokyo—were designed by interior designer Yukio Hashimoto and feature a warm setting infused throughout with authentic Japanese aesthetics. Every room is appointed with a single-slab Japanese horse chestnut door rich in natural character, a vermilion-lacquered counter with refined woven-texture undercoating, and a cedar ajiro (woven) ceiling that conveys both craftsmanship and delicate detail. From the large windows, enjoy ever-changing views of the lush greenery of the Imperial Palace Outer Gardens and Hibiya Park, as well as city views toward Ginza and the vibrant streetscape of Tokyo.

Restaurant
A Diverse Culinary Experience

The Hotel offers eight distinctive restaurants and bars, including the top-floor modern French restaurant “Peter” and the adjoining “Peter Bar,” authentic Cantonese cuisine at “Hei Fung Terrace,” and “The Lobby,” which serves afternoon tea—one of The Peninsula’s signature experiences.\nOn Basement Level 1, “The Peninsula Boutique & Café” features a wide selection of sweets, breads, gift items, and more, including its popular mango pudding.

About Hygiene Measures
In-House Policies & Services - Medical arrangements can be made 24 hours a day. - We have introduced “PenChat,” a system that allows you to request Hotel services easily without face-to-face contact via messaging apps such as LINE and Facebook Messenger. - You can view in-house Facilities and services via URL or QR code on your personal mobile device. - Upon request, we can offer in-Room check-in and express check-out. Please feel free to ask our staff. Thorough measures implemented even behind the scenes - We will appoint Hygiene Managers at all Hotels (a role already adopted at several The Peninsula Hotels properties). Hygiene Managers oversee safety management and daily training, inspections, tests, and other hygiene operations across all areas—from guest Rooms, public spaces, restaurants and bars, the spa, fitness center, Shuttle Service vehicles, to staff areas—to protect both guests and employees, and report to the Hotel Manager. - We will enhance cleaning procedures and frequency for air purification filters and air-conditioning equipment. - A dedicated housekeeping team will clean guest Room areas in accordance with strict cleaning standards to prevent cross-contamination. Disinfection frequency will be increased with particular focus on telephones in public spaces and guest Rooms, as well as controllers and tablets. - We are proactively introducing advanced equipment such as Premium Purity and Germagic that is effective in eliminating bacteria, viruses, and mold on surfaces. We are also working with a company developing UV technology to achieve medical-grade disinfection and sterilization standards. - All external vendors doing business with The Peninsula Hotels are required to comply with our prescribed hygiene standards. - A color-coding system is used for cleaning supplies to differentiate between guest Room areas and public spaces by color classification to prevent cross-contamination.
