Immerse yourself in the historical architectural beauty at a traditional Ryokan in Saga and Karatsu.

A traditional Japanese-style Ryokan preserving the charm of the Meiji and Taisho eras. Enjoy a relaxing stay and delightful meals with us.

  • I visited again after three years to enjoy the full tiger puffer course. It is delicious every time, and I never get tired of it. The hassun, soup dish, and takikomi rice were also excellent, and I ended up drinking quite a lot again. Of course, the ara course and other courses are also very tasty, but I still think Yoyokaku’s tiger puffer course is the best. The staff and everyone at the Accommodation were very pleasant, and the building and garden felt spacious and relaxing, so I was able to unwind once again. Thank you for upgrading us to a wonderful Room.

  • The beauty of the building and the garden always brings me a sense of calm. The quiet wooden corridor leading to the Room, and the garden view from the Room, are truly wonderful. I’m deeply drawn to how this historic property remains impeccably clean and filled with a serene atmosphere.Breakfast is also memorable—simple yet carefully prepared dishes such as Kawashima tofu and barley porridge are genuinely delicious. I appreciate that it’s not a buffet; being able to enjoy a relaxed meal while looking out at the garden really enhances the overall stay.I usually visit with my family, so our time here inevitably feels rushed and too short, which is a shame. Someday, I would love to come alone and spend an unhurried day reading in the library.

From Fukuoka Airport or JR Hakata Station, please take the subway (2-3 trains per hour) and transfer at Chikuzen-Maebaru. There is also one direct train per hour (JR Chikuhi Line).
(Taking the route from Fukuoka to Saga and then to Karatsu via the Karatsu Line is a detour. The subway route via the Chikuhi Line is faster, though it requires an additional subway fare of about 300 yen.)
If coming from the Hakata area, get off at Higashi-Karatsu Station. It’s a 4-minute taxi ride. If coming from Saga or Imari, get off at Karatsu Station, and it’s a 6-minute taxi ride.

If you are driving from Fukuoka Airport or the Hakata area, the Urban Expressway, Fukuoka-Maebaru Road, and Nijohamatama Bypass connect directly to Karatsu. There is no longer a need to detour through Taku.
A 160-yen bus is also available. From the north exit of Karatsu Station, take the East Route bus, get off at Higashi-Karatsu 2-chome in 11 minutes, and walk 3 minutes.

To reach Yoyokaku, head north from the Higashi-Karatsu 2-chome traffic signal, go 50 meters, and turn left at the tobacco shop. Parking is available in three locations: west of the entrance, across the street, and to the east.
It’s a 5-minute walk to Karatsu Castle, a 2-minute walk to Higashi-no-Hama Beach, and a 10-minute walk to Niji-no-Matsubara.
