○Kyu Ryokan is located upstream of the clear Katsura River, with the mountains of Izu spreading out before your eyes. The colors of the four seasons teach the gentle flow of time. Our facility is a Japanese-style inn that cherishes such ancient charm.
I arrived 30 minutes early, and I really appreciated you opening up for me, especially since it was raining due to the typhoon. Thank you as well for accommodating my allergies. The property is barrier-free, so I was able to get around easily in a wheelchair. There was also an Onsen in the Room that I could use 24 hours a day, which allowed me to relax and enjoy it at my own pace. All of the staff were kind, and everything was excellent. Thank you very much.
とまとセイ 6/5/2026This was our first stay. As my spouse uses a wheelchair, we chose the “〇久 Suite with Open-Air Bath & Barrier-Free” Room. The Room was spacious, with wood flooring and step-free access throughout. The in-room bath could be reached by wheelchair right up to the tub, and the toilet was reasonably sized as well. It felt thoughtfully designed with accessibility in mind. The property was quiet and relaxing. Dinner was high quality. Steaming the abalone ourselves added a nice touch, and the grilled splendid alfonsino was beautifully presented. Although new, our staff member was very capable and took care of us from check-in through departure. What stayed with us most was that they kept waving until we were out of sight at send-off. We hear Shuzenji is especially beautiful during the autumn leaves season, so we would like to visit again then.

The onsen in Shuzenji is a smooth, tasteless, and odorless alkaline simple spring. As a long-established onsen ryokan in Shuzenji celebrating its centennial, Marukyu Ryokan offers the warmth of this sacred spring associated with Kobo Daishi through a variety of attractions, including a large public bath and four unique private baths.
We offer a monthly kaiseki meal, featuring the richness of local ingredients from the mountains and sea, presented in elegant bamboo dishes characteristic of Shuzenji. Enjoy a delightful encounter with seasonal flavors that will bring a smile to your face.
We offer five types of rooms, ranging from standard Japanese-style rooms to luxurious Japanese-Western style rooms with private open-air baths. We have also prepared barrier-free rooms with semi-open-air baths, with the hope that wheelchair users and elderly guests can fully enjoy the Onsen of Shuzenji without any worries.
The open-air footbath lounge & restaurant "Tenn." adjacent to Ryokan Kyukyu is a lounge cafe in Shuzenji that welcomes not only staying guests but also visitors. The facility includes a footbath with natural hot spring water, and a restaurant where you can enjoy a cafe time or lunch while strolling around.
