Irago Onsen Wami no Yado Kakujourou
Aichi Prefecture/Atsumi Peninsula / IragoFounded in 1926. A traditional Japanese Ryokan on the Atsumi Peninsula, renowned for fresh seafood.
Wami no Yado Kakujoro is a long-established Property founded in 1925, located at the tip of the Atsumi Peninsula. The main building, Kakujoro, and the annex, Izutsuro, are designated as Registered Tangible Cultural Properties of Japan, preserving their serene and nostalgic appearance. In June 2005, the newly constructed annexes "Unjoro" and "Suijoro," featuring rooms with open-air baths, were introduced, blending modern aesthetics with traditional charm to provide a comfortable and relaxing stay. For dining, guests can enjoy kaiseki cuisine prepared with fresh, seasonal seafood sourced from the Atsumi Peninsula area. Our specialty winter dish, the fugu kaiseki, allows you to savor the full flavor of natural tiger pufferfish, a luxurious delicacy. As a Property that offers a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, along with exquisite culinary experiences, we would be delighted if you find joy and satisfaction during your stay.
We were able to fully enjoy the atmosphere of this cultural heritage property with a charming Showa-era retro feel. In a quiet setting, we enjoyed the Onsen and delicious meals. The hospitality was relaxed and unhurried, helping us forget the bustle of the city. Next time, we hope to try the fugu cuisine.
シニアのスーさん 7/8/2026The resident cat, Myu-chan, welcomed us and it was so soothing. The Room was on the first floor and very lovely. The massage chair was also very comfortable. To get to the bath, you go up to the second floor and pass through the courtyard (sandals are provided), then take the stairs again to what I think is the third floor. It felt exciting, but it was quite a workout, so I only went once. I wanted to go at night too, but since there was a large bath in the Room, I was satisfied. Spending time with the cats was relaxing and fun. Myu-chan, please live a long life—I’d love to see you again.

Introduction of the Accommodation

The Maneki Neko, a symbol of Kakujourou.
At Property Kakujoro, several cats currently reside. Since its establishment, a cat settled here, and since then, guests have continuously visited, making it known as the "Cat Property." We, along with the cats, look forward to welcoming you.

The Mikawa Bay and Enshu Nada area around Cape Irago boasts the highest catch of wild tiger pufferfish in Japan. It is the only place in the country where wild tiger pufferfish are landed year-round. Especially in the autumn and winter seasons, high-quality tiger pufferfish rich in collagen are abundantly caught, making it a highly recommended course by Kakujourou, which is well-received by many guests every year. Kakujourou proudly offers its exquisite pufferfish dishes. The firm, gelatin-rich meat and flavorful cuts are a true delight, offering a taste of paradise. Particularly, the premium course featuring extra-large wild tiger pufferfish weighing 3 to 5 kilograms is a gourmet's dream come true.
