A high-quality property with a long history, established in the Meiji era, located in Yamashiro Onsen of Kaga Onsenkyo.

The softness and warmth of Hiragana. At Tachibana Shikitei, we welcome each guest with a richer experience and satisfaction, making you feel at home. The Onsen uses the historic first source spring, and the interior is designed for comfort with bare feet. Our monthly original Kaiseki cuisine is served dish by dish in your room or a private dining area, ensuring warm dishes are served warm and cold dishes cold. Renowned for its dedication to cuisine and hospitality, this is an exceptional accommodation.

  • Thank you for having us for one night.Since our Room did not have an open-air bath, we relaxed and enjoyed the Onsen in the large public bath. We had the large public bath all to ourselves, and the slightly hot water soothed both body and mind. The cuisine was a true delight for both the eyes and the palate, and we were very satisfied. It was a wonderful holiday—relaxing in our Room and unwinding in the Onsen. Thank you very much.

  • This was our first stay as a couple, and among the many Accommodations in Yamashiro Onsen, the location here is outstanding. We could walk to sightseeing spots such as Sōyu and Onsen-ji Temple. The hot spring water quality was excellent, and we enjoyed it five or six times during our stay. We also appreciated the sherbet service after bathing. The meals were thoughtfully prepared, with each dish carefully made. Although we don’t eat as much as we used to, everything was so delicious that we finished almost all of both dinner and breakfast. We are grateful for the warm hospitality from all the staff, especially our in-room attendant who paid attention to every detail. We were able to relax throughout our stay, and we were both very happy. If we have the chance, we would love to stay again.

Yamashiro Onsen Loved by Kitaoji Rosanjin

Yamashiro Onsen, a renowned hot spring with a 1300-year history, is a charming destination surrounded by the beautiful nature of Mount Hakusan and warm hospitality. Loved by poet Akiko Yosano and admired by the cultured artist Rosanjin Kitaoji, Yamashiro Onsen continues to captivate visitors.

The History of "Yunokawara" Tachibana Shikitei

Accommodations were built surrounding the public bath, creating a charming townscape. This area around the bath came to be known as "Yunogawa," meaning "the side of the bath." In the first year of the Meiji era, our predecessor, Tanakaya Ryokan, began operations in this Yunogawa area. In 1916 (Taisho 5), we deepened our connection with gourmet and artist Rosanjin Kitaoji, who created an inscription for our special annex at that time called "Senshinkan." Later, in 1990 (Heisei 2), we rebuilt the entire facility and reopened as "Tachibana Shikitei." Most recently, in 2023 (Reiwa 5), new guest rooms including Japanese Junior Suites with open-air baths were introduced. Additionally, a large banquet hall was renovated into private dining spaces under the name “Senshinkan.”

Each 15-tatami mat Japanese-style Room is equipped with Sealy double twin beds and BoConcept sofas. Additionally, the open-air Onsen bath in the Room uses water from Yamashiro Onsen's No.1 source, allowing you to enjoy Onsen anytime during your stay.
