I visited again for the first time in about four years. Every area was thoroughly cleaned, and the Room was exceptionally spotless. For example, even the glass on the glass-fronted dish cabinet in the Room was shining—of course, so were the glasses. The mirrors, glass doors, and even the stainless-steel toilet paper holder in the restroom were gleaming, without a single fingerprint. Every large public bath was immaculate as well. All of the food was made with incredibly fresh ingredients—I’m amazed at how they managed to source everything. The staff were modest yet wonderfully pleasant; just being here makes me happy. Katsuragi Kitano-maru is a space that goes beyond “the best.”
Although we don’t play golf, my husband is an audiophile who loves listening to music, and he was thrilled with this Hotel. We stayed one night on the way to visit our daughter in Nagoya. The building truly reflects the quality you’d expect from a Yamaha Resort property, and the audio room was equipped with Yamaha’s top-of-the-line system. The open-air bath was also excellent. The staff were attentive in every way, and the food was delicious—so I give it a perfect 100/100.

The YAMAHA trademark comes from the surname of the company’s founder, Torakusu Yamaha, a pioneer in Western musical instrument manufacturing.
Torakusu Yamaha decided to build organs after successfully repairing a broken organ at Hamamatsu Jinjo Elementary School in 1887. In 1899, he was commissioned by the Ministry of Education to travel to the United States to study piano manufacturing methods, and is known for his remarkable foresight.
This organ is currently on display in Umeden at Katsuragi Kitano-maru.
It was donated by the late Shojiro Sato, who was active as a percussionist with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra after World War II, later served as chair of its management committee, became a professor at Hiroshima University, and went on to serve as principal conductor of the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra. This instrument is known as “No. 2,” produced from the Meiji era through the early Showa period.
Although parts have been restored, serial number 81243 is believed to date from around 1908. The worn YAMAHA ORGAN logo and markings convey its long history.
