In the area with the heaviest snowfall in Japan, where snow, sky, soil, mountains, rivers, people, and living beings have slowly nurtured each other.
Although it was a shame that we couldn’t go out for a walk because of the heavy rain during our stay, everything else was wonderful. The dinner in particular was carefully seasoned, vegetable by vegetable, and I was surprised at how delicious every dish was. We chose a Room without a view this time, but next time I’d like to stay in a Room with a great view. Thank you very much.
tnhk 9/9/2026It was a long weekend of perfectly clear skies for the first time in a while, including the days before and after our stay, so we thoroughly enjoyed sightseeing in the area over two days (we visited Uonuma no Sato twice and also enjoyed the new rice festival). We had been a bit worried after seeing some rather harsh reviews for a period following COVID, but we did not experience any particularly troubling service—perhaps things have been discussed and improved among the staff since then. (That said, one male staff member seemed to be handling meal service, bar drinks, and front desk duties all at once for two straight days; when I pressed the call button at the shop and saw him rush over again, I couldn’t help thinking, “Please take care of yourself”… I hope he was okay.)I thought it was wonderful that the cold plunge after the sauna is placed next to the open-air bath. The semi-open-air reclining chairs at night with a pleasant breeze are perfect for relaxing after the sauna.The Yukiguni gastronomy dinner was also very enjoyable—the ingredients and cooking style were subtly different from those in Tohoku or Hokkaido, which made it interesting—and there was more than enough food. As for drinks, instead of ordering a set pairing we mixed various choices rather freely, but we still had a great time without feeling unwell.Next time, we would love to visit during snowy season.Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

Additionally, the surroundings of the property feature walking routes through rural landscapes as vast as the Imperial Palace and Mount Sakado, where you can view a sea of clouds after a 30-minute climb.
