  • Accommodation with Concert Ticket

    This stay included a piano solo concert. This Hotel is a cool, green retreat away from the hot city. The hospitality and dinner were excellent, and five female friends joined together. At dinner, we ordered a bottle of red wine for the first time to pair with the delicious food and finished it all—making it a wonderful memory.

  • Power Recharge

    I have stayed here several times on my own in the past, and my two daughters always said they wanted to visit whenever I showed them the photos. This time, I stayed here with both of them. The Room was spacious enough even with an extra bed, and even with three of us, having three mirrors meant getting ready was stress-free. Breakfast is always truly delicious. I come here when I want to spend some quiet time alone, so next time I will visit again by myself.

A beautiful hexagonal structure blending seamlessly with the highland mountains, radiating the warmth of wood. The Yatsugatake Kogen Music Hall, inspired by Richter's advice to create a building "that can stand on the world stage," is a masterpiece of architecture harmonizing with nature and its surroundings. It was awarded the "1989 Mainichi Art Award" and the "1989 Tokyo Creation Grand Prize for Environmental Design." Designed with chamber music in mind, its acoustics were perfected through theoretical experiments and human auditory testing, achieving an ideal reverberation time of 1.6 seconds for a small hall. The wooden structure delivers soft, natural sounds that are pleasing to the ear, capturing every nuance of musical beauty. Moments before a performance as anticipation builds or after a concert when you bask in lingering emotions—time spent in the foyer adjacent to the hall enriches connections between music and people as well as among individuals. Beyond large glass windows lies untouched nature. The contrast between exhilarating music and serene natural beauty leaves an unforgettable impression that cannot be experienced in urban concert halls.

Just 2 hours and 30 minutes by car from Tokyo.
■ By Car:
From Chuo Expressway Sutama I.C., take Route 141 towards Komoro/Kiyosato for about 45 minutes. From Nagasaka I.C., use the Kiyosato Highland Toll Road (opened in June 1998) and Route 141 towards Komoro for about 40 minutes. Alternatively, from Joshinetsu Expressway Saku I.C., take Route 141 towards Nirasaki/Kiyosato for about 70 minutes to Yatsugatake Highland Lodge.

■ By JR Train:
From Shinjuku, take the Chuo Main Line to Kobuchizawa Station, transfer to the Koumi Line, and get off at Nobeyama Station. Or from Tokyo, take the Nagano Shinkansen to Sakudaira Station, transfer to the Koumi Line, and get off at Nobeyama Station. Use the shuttle service (about a 15-minute ride) to Yatsugatake Highland Lodge. *For JR train users, Azusa discount tickets (Shinjuku–Kobuchizawa/6-ticket set/limited period) are convenient.
