  • A well-regarded Hotel in the neighborhood

    This is a spaciously designed city Hotel. When it first opened, I remember the excitement of “A luxury Hotel has come to town!” At the time there were no nearby high-rise buildings, so I recall it being the tallest building around.Decades have passed, but its refined sense of luxury has not changed. My Room was upgraded from a single to a twin—thank you very much.About once a year for a staycation, I book the 24-hour stay Plan with parking included. The bathroom is larger than usual and very relaxing. It’s also a nice touch that bath salts are provided.One drawback is that only limited floors have vending machines, and it’s hard to find where they are located. There was mineral water in the refrigerator, but buying drinks can be inconvenient. The nearest convenience store is a FamilyMart just around the back and a short walk away. Depending on which side your Room faces, the view is completely different between the Tokyo side and the Omiya side. From the Tokyo side, I could even see Mt. Fuji in the distance.There are also restaurants and a bakery inside the Hotel. The Japanese, Chinese, French options and cake shop are slightly upscale but very delicious. There are many places within walking distance outside as well, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding somewhere to eat.This is one of the few Hotels in the prefecture where you can truly enjoy a Hotel stay—not just sleep for business travel. I will definitely stay again.
