At the foot of Mount Zozu, overlooking the historic Kotohira Shrine, affectionately known as "Konpira-san" since ancient times, stands the Kotohira Grand Hotel Sakuranoshou. In spring, cherry blossoms; in summer, lush greenery; and in autumn, vibrant foliage—guests can enjoy the seasonal scenery through the windows and find comfort in the colorful decor. Amidst the floral adornments throughout the Hotel, we invite you to relax in the warmth of the natural Onsen and savor the seasonal delicacies, as we assist in creating memorable moments for your journey. In April 2020, the "Hatsune Premium" rooms with private open-air Onsen baths were opened. Inspired by the "Hatsune Drum" featured in the kabuki play "Yoshitsune Senbon Zakura," these rooms offer a serene space with a modern Japanese aesthetic and a view unique to Kotohira.

    From the warm welcome on arrival to our departure the next day, we were thoroughly satisfied with the consistently outstanding hospitality. The international staff were also wonderfully attentive, and our whole family truly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel. The meals and the Onsen were especially excellent. We would love to stay again.
