Kashiwaya Main Store
Nagano Prefecture/Ueda CityA traditional Japanese Ryokan with 12 rooms offering a relaxing stay, rejuvenating hot spring baths, and the flavors of Shinshu cuisine.
Bessho Onsen is a villa area embraced by nature, ancient history, and historical sites, loved by many guests as a serene Onsen village alongside literary figures and artists. Renowned figures such as Shotaro Hanayagi and Matsutaro Kawaguchi have stayed at our Property numerous times. It is said that Kawaguchi decided on the title of his work "Aizen Katsura" during his stay here, inspired by the giant katsura tree near the Kannon statue. Kashiwaya Honten, with over a century of history, welcomes each guest with care, incorporating "Japanese elegance," "seasonal aromas," and "warm hospitality" into its architecture, cuisine, and service, offering a tranquil Japanese lodging experience.
We were able to stay at Kashiwaya again this year as a family, and we had a truly wonderful time. With only a few Rooms, we hardly ran into other guests even in the baths, so we could quietly enjoy the excellent waters of Bessho Onsen. The meals are gently seasoned and make the most of local ingredients, and no matter when we visit, it’s a mysterious Accommodation where we always sleep soundly at night. We look forward to visiting again.
すみれのお母さん 8/27/2026This was my first stay, and it was wonderful.I enjoyed visiting the large public bath and the private baths, felt at ease chatting with the staff, ate delicious food, and slept comfortably—simple, but truly relaxing.Personally, I was surprised by how much the Western-style breakfast felt like something you’d find at a city hotel. The cucumber in particular was so refreshing and delicious.I would definitely like to stay again.
