Staying guests may enjoy admission to Awashima Marine Park and use the Hotel’s dedicated parking area. The special experience of crossing to the island by boat is also one of this Hotel’s unique charms. Magnificent views of Mt. I was truly overwhelmed by the many wonderful paintings displayed throughout the property.The collection of rare vintage wines in the cellar—such as aged Romanée-Conti and Château Margaux—was also very impressive.After dinner, I took a walk through the garden and returned to my Room, only to realize my smartphone was missing, so I hurriedly consulted the front desk.Even though it was late at night, the staff worked hard to search for it, including in the restaurant that had already closed and deep into the garden. In the end, they also advised me to use my Apple Watch’s location feature, and we were able to safely find it where it had fallen into a gap between chairs in the entrance area.I sincerely appreciate all of your staff for their quick thinking and kind, warm support. It was a truly wonderful stay.
229よし 9/7/2026While planning a trip to a remote island, I came across this Hotel. A Hotel on an uninhabited island? The mystery made the journey exciting. I had made a Reservation for dinner at 19:30, but at check-in I was told it would be earlier, so it was changed to 18:00. If I had known sooner, I would have planned accordingly and arrived hungry, so I would have appreciated advance notice. From the restaurant’s large windows, we had an excellent view of Mt. Fuji. Its appearance changed moment by moment with time—so beautiful it left me speechless—and we were able to watch the sun set at dusk, so in the end an earlier dinner time was actually perfect. The meal offered a wide variety of dishes with refined flavors and was truly delicious. Mt. Fuji could also be seen from the Room balcony and bath just as from the restaurant, and the magnificent scenery and quietness were deeply soothing. Although the space is sophisticated and high-quality, thanks to the staff’s thoughtful attention to detail, it also felt welcoming and relaxing throughout our stay. Next time, I’d like to visit in a different season.

A South European–style Resort Hotel, Awashima Hotel, stands on the uninhabited island of “Awashima,” floating in the blue waters of Suruga Bay in Nishi-Izu, Shizuoka Prefecture. Awashima is a small island with a 2.5 km circumference and an elevation of 137 meters, believed to have been formed about 7 million years ago as an undersea volcano. Its uniquely shaped rocks and lush vegetation showcase the beauty of nature. Surrounded by the sea in all directions, it offers views across Suruga Bay to the graceful silhouette of Mt. Fuji rising beautifully beyond. All 60 guest rooms are suites with both a living room and bedroom. The large public bath also features an open-air bath that feels as if it merges with the sea.
