An accommodation bearing the name of Taikan Yokoyama, where you can unwind with sweeping garden views and a soothing Onsen.

Daikanso, a property associated with the Japanese painting master Yokoyama Taikan. The expansive garden and the large bath boasting abundant hot spring water each have their own unique charm. Enjoy a relaxing moment with Kyoto-style kaiseki cuisine, harmonizing carefully selected fresh seasonal ingredients from the mountains and sea with chosen tableware.

  • The Onsen, the food, the service, and the Room were all beyond our expectations, and we were able to truly relax. It had been a while since we stayed in a Japanese-style room; lying on the tatami and gazing at the garden, we enjoyed the luxury of doing absolutely nothing. The only disappointment was that while the private bath has a wonderful ocean view, there is an apartment building directly in front of it, and I was quite concerned that the washing area might be visible from there.

  • This was our first overnight trip to Atami as a couple. When choosing an Accommodation, we selected Taikanso for its history and views. As soon as we arrived, the historic building, beautiful Japanese garden, and the stunning view from our Room convinced us we had made the right choice. All three baths were excellent, and there was also a sauna, which made for a very satisfying experience. Dinner was a teppanyaki course, and since we were the only guests, it felt like a private setting; the night view through the large window in front of us was breathtaking, and we enjoyed a wonderful evening with delicious food. It’s an Accommodation we would love to visit again.
