December 11, 1934: Sapporo Grand Hotel was established as "Hokkaido's first full-scale Western-style hotel" under the advocacy of the late Prince Chichibu. In July 2025, the main building guest rooms were reborn as "Grand Classic." The Executive Floor and exclusive "Executive Lounge" for guests staying in Grand in Grand have also been renovated. I love Sapporo and visit often, but this was my first stay at this Hotel. The location is great, and transportation access is excellent. These days, perhaps due to staff shortages, more Hotels are introducing self check-in. I truly appreciate the accurate suggestions provided in response to my questions. Traditional service can be valued differently depending on the generation, but my stay was very comfortable. I would like to stay at this Hotel again.
As expected of a long-established Hotel, I truly felt the staff’s passion for hospitality and had a wonderful time. Please continue to pass on these refined manners and attentiveness—something that can only be built through years of dedication—to future generations. The club lounge, in particular, was outstanding. It was clear that the light snacks provided were prepared with great care and no shortcuts. Breakfast also made generous use of Hokkaido ingredients, with cooking and seasoning that fully brought out their natural flavors—I enjoyed it so much I could almost feel my body thanking me.
